Life in our sweet home. John Paul’s New improved leg! July 30, 2015. July 30, 2015. John Paul had a successful osteotomy today at UVA Children’s Hospital. This procedure took about 3 1/2 hours, but with the transfusion he needed before hand, our day was much longer. All in all, he did a really great, which is really no surprise because John Paul is really great all the time! Nothing ever goes as planned and his anatomy is always a surprise! On Friday morning the girls and I drove up the hill to St. Mary's School and officially registered Anja for half day morning kindergarten. I'm not feeling especially sentimental (yet) about the fact that my oldest baby is going to be heading off to school in the fall, but at the same time I AM feeling sentimental about the fact that she is no longer, in any way, shape or form, a baby. My sweetheart made it crystal clear last night he was in need of a brownie fix, so I got up super early this morning to surprise him - until I knocked the cocoa canister all over the kitchen floor and had to vacuum, which of course woke him up and ruined my plan. There was a recommended frosting recipe attached, which I will include, but I did not make it this time and they were great. 1 cup white sugar. 1/3 cup cocoa powder. 1/2 cup AP flour. 1/4 tsp. salt. 1 tbsp. honey.
