This organ firm excels in voicing and tuning. They have built great organs throughout the country, and also restored a number of organs very well.

1700 Arp Schnitger Organ, Uithuizen, Nederlands. Tuesday, November 15, 2005. The organ was restored in 2001 by Bernhardt Edskes. Edskes returned the organ to its original sound and construction. Kantens, Nederlands, houses a beautiful mean-tone organ, dating to about 1650. Mean-tone tuning means the thirds of a chord are tuned perfectly, resulting in a triad chord without any beats. It is a truly stunning experience, as most instruments are tuned out of tune- bizarre, but true. I have the opportunity to practice on this organ on Sunday afternoons.
