https://educatingjordan.wordpress.com/2010/11
November 26, 2010 at 09:19 ( Craft. Sorry it’s been a while since our last update, we’ve been crazily busy! Today’s activity was creating some fun presents for family this Christmas. We bought some recycled cardboard boxes, ribbon and stickers from the local bargain shop, found some leaves, bark and made these cute gift boxes with some lollies inside to put under the tree for everyone. We just used PVA glue to stick the leaves and bark on and wrapped the lollies in cellophane. Hot Hose Dog = FUN! I encou...

November 10, 2010 at 16:18 ( gardening. Today has been a warm one, so this afternoon we did some gardening out the back. Today Jordan planted onion, carrot, silverbeet and Kale seeds in a garden bed we have just finished preparing. We try to plant every few weeks so there is always something to harvest. Whatever greens we can’t juice or eat ourselves usually go to the chooks and guinea pigs, nothing gets wasted here! After planting our Kale, Carrot, Silverbeet and Onion. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Paddle Pop Stick Puppets. October 28, 2010 at 12:26 ( Craft. Today is our first blog post. I’ve set this blog up for two reasons. Firstly to enable me to keep a record of learning activities undertaken with my son to reflect back on when he is older, and secondly to serve as a tool for other parents who need ideas for activities for their children. We aim to update daily, however with a 3 week old here too sometimes it may be difficult! So today our planned activity is Paddle Pop Stick Puppets! While the...

November 4, 2010 at 14:26 ( Craft. Another wet day today. We made it to the park briefly this morning but have been holed up inside ever since. Today’s activity was creating cute foot pictures using the outline of Jordan’s feet. Ticklish warning for this one! Getting him not to wriggle was tricky! All you need is a pen, paper, scissors and some textas or crayons for colouring in! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

Freezing cold, rainy day – lets make ice-blocks! November 2, 2010 at 16:09 ( cooking. Even though the weather is not really suited to craving a cool ice-block, apparently we had to make them anyway! Here is the finished product. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Freire, Teaching, and Learning. Freire’s work has much relevance for educators. His focus is on equity and democracy. A Year of Canadian Reading | what stories are you made of?
A Year of Canadian Reading. What stories are you made of? Canadian Literature in short meaningful blurbs. Suggest a book for Jerome. What can a Canadian-in-training learn about Canada through its literature? I decided to find out. CBC North agreed to take on the challenge to Educate Me about Canada because, Heaven knows, I need the help. I want to know what country I’ve adopted as my own–and I’d like to know it through stories, poems and plays. What books are we made of? What do they tell us about Canada?
