Elizabeth's Quilt Projects

Quilt Projects for 2013. Thursday, March 22, 2018. A Baby Quilt Finish. Not much sewing has happened here during the past week. I fussy cut the alphabet blocks from fabric I had. I used needled polyester batting and minimal quilting with soft and comfy fabric on the back. I am happy with the end result. Friday, March 9, 2018. Elizabeth's Quilt Projects: Fans Finished and Comfort Quilt

http://elizabethsquiltprojects.blogspot.com/2015/08/fans-finished-and-comfort-quilt.html

Quilt Projects for 2013. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Fans Finished and Comfort Quilt. I have been enjoying time with granddaughters (snack time on swim break). And I have not sewn a stitch this week even though I setup a cutting table and had my portable sewing machine. Before I went, I did finish the binding on the fans quilt. And I am pleased to have finished 2 large bed quilts on my UFO list. I also had time to quilt a comfort quilt for my church group. I still need to find a binding. The Way I Sew It.

Elizabeth's Quilt Projects: Very Close to Finished

http://elizabethsquiltprojects.blogspot.com/2015/07/very-close-to-finished.html

Quilt Projects for 2013. Monday, July 6, 2015. Very Close to Finished. I have finished all the quilting on the Dogwood quilt and I am glad. All that it needs is binding and a label. Here is a close-up of the front background quilting. I did meandering leaves and loops. Here is a close-up of the back quilting. For a break from quilting I pulled out a UFO that just needs borders. I added a couple. I will take a photo after the final border is added. August 23, 2015 at 6:05 PM. Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM.

Elizabeth's Quilt Projects: Playing with Made-Fabric

http://elizabethsquiltprojects.blogspot.com/2015/05/playing-with-made-fabric.html

Quilt Projects for 2013. Sunday, May 17, 2015. I enjoyed a visit with my sister, made a presentation to ACPQ. Guild and led a workshop on creating and using made-fabric. I have been inspired by the work of Victoria Findlay Wolfe. And her book, 15 Minutes of Play: Improvisational Quilts. You can find many tips on her blog. And also many made-fabric tutorials and challenges at http:/ www.15minutesplay.com/. Sue was not 100% because of eye surgery so she acted as assistant. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Elizabeth's Quarters

My work has appeared in…. My work has appeared in…. Thursday, 16 July 2015. As much as I like cutting up fabric and sewing it together to make something new, the potential to actually create fabric appeals to me even more. I think it has something to do with control and not being limited to using fabrics designed by someone else. I'm not claiming that I could do a better job than another designer, but somehow, when I use someone else's designs, projects just feel less personal. Links to this post. You co...

Elizabeth's Recipe Exchange

Saturday, June 22, 2013. I have made this wonderful dessert twice this spring, once using ladyfingers and another time using angel food cake (premade from the grocery store and sliced for layering). My husband likes the angel food version better, but both got rave reviews from our friends. I also use orange juice rather than liqueur to make the simple syrup in step 2, and had ample leftovers to use for other purposes. 4 packages (6 oz. each) fresh blueberries (about 4 ¾ cups), divided. Meanwhile, in smal...
