I meet with each family to create an individualized plan that will most effectively meet your needs, from helping to meet goals already in place for your child, to working with you to develop new goals. We confront autism on the social/emotional level as well as the behavioral level. Teaching behaviors only goes so far. Many high-functioning children have no trouble answering every question on a behavioral hypothetical questionnaire, however they still struggle daily with the nuances of putting these learned behaviors into practice. These children often have extremely low self-esteem. They know they don’t fit in, but they don’t fully understand why.
