Ethiopia Project Mercy 2011. Sunday, October 30, 2011. Tuesday was the first day our surgical team went to the Charles C. Olsen Hospital of Project Mercy. It is a modern hospital. For the area with a Pharmacy, Laboratory, X-ray, Emergency Room, Surgical Unit, Medical Unit, Pediatric Unit, Obstetrical Unit, and an Operating Room area. Although there is a room designated as a Recovery Room, it is not utilized. The hospital has one physician/surgeon on staff—Dr. Fekadu. Wednesday was the first day of surgery.

The school where we have set up the clinic is also home to a herd of cows and each night when we pack up and return to project mercy, a young boy brings the cows home. I don't know why I find it so amusing that I can say that I worked till the cows came home, but I just do. Today we saw 161 kids! Joy to the World.
