Art Makes Kids Smart: May 2012
http://artmakeskidssmart.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 28, 2012. Our school district's art teachers have talked about doing an art show together for some time now. This was our year. We set up at our local civic center using tables, display flats, and walls. I've posted a gallery of pictures (lots of them). The pictures range from kindergarten to 12th grade. I don't have them separated in any way. I'm sort of random that way. Enjoy! We have some fantastic artists! Shelton 2012 Art Show. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Most Fascinating Blog of 2012.

http://artmakeskidssmart.blogspot.com/2014/05/bean-art.html

I have added too many after school activities to my list of "things I want to do" that I've had little energy to add much here. I've been taking classical guitar lessons and I actually practice every day. So I've been putting in a lot of energy in that pursuit. Well, I have some pictures of some of the things the kids have been doing and I'm in the sharing mood. So here goes. Custom essay writing service. Evergreen A...

Saturday, May 3, 2014. When I was first introduced to the idea of cardboard construction I was hesitant because it seemed to be an impossible storage task. But with a bunch of boxes, each with a class name on it, I was able to keep each class's creations separate and organized, even in my very small room. I'm amazed at the results. Sunday, June 30, 2013. Pointillism for Primary Grades. 1st and 2nd grade project. I have a computer full of art project pictures but haven't been blogging much this year. Art Makes Kids Smart: November 2011
http://artmakeskidssmart.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 27, 2011. One may begin to wonder if I'm a Donna Huge fan. Here is yet another idea from one of Donna's Videos. I think the crayons worked well. After drawing the birds, the students used crayons and blended the colors together to create the unique coloring of the toucan. I updated this entry Jan 22 2012. I've added a video below and the web address for a slideshow of more kid's examples. *. Here's almost exactly what I said each time we drew the flowers. "Put a small circle in the m...

Art Makes Kids Smart: Abstract Art With Shapes
http://artmakeskidssmart.blogspot.com/2013/07/abstract-art-with-shapes.html
Monday, July 1, 2013. Abstract Art With Shapes. This is a project that we did a few years ago based on an exercise in Mona Brookes' book, Drawing With Children. The exercise was similar to this art project. I found this similar idea. In a google search just now. Interesting how different people can come up with identical ideas. The exact inspiration for me likely came from several sources. I think the effect is rather nice. Look closely at the lines in each example. You'll see what I mean. If...However, ...
