facetiae: December 2009
http://facetiae.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
N pl amusing or witty remarks or writings. [1520-30] I've survived the dates. That's something. Sunday, December 27, 2009. Detective story, maybe. At 00:30 on Dec. 26th, a crash awakened Julie (and me, eventually). Inspection revealed the Christmas Tree had fallen. We have an annoying cat who doesn't stay away from things and has been batting ornaments ever since we got the tree. The tree was taller than last year's tree. It was cheaper than last year's tree, perhaps indicating that it's wood was softer.

Today, walking through the park near my former high school I suddenly realized that this is the April day like it used to be a long time ago. We had a very long and cold winter and everybody is fed up with cold, so we bitch about cold and rainy spring. But we are wrong about it being unusually cold, cloudy and rainy. With unbelievable clarity I remember the exact same weather. Many, many Aprils. Long time ago,. In a hired limousine. Pretplati se na: Postovi (Atom). Prikaži moj cijeli profil.

Reach out and touch. I am always reminded of one particular moment in my past when listening to this song: we are in your car, returning from somewhere, talking, listening to my tapes. Today the memory makes me very sad. You are gone for ever. How knew, at the time, that your time on Earth would be so short? If we had known, what would have been different? I am not so good with words and cannot describe my feelings, but I know I am sad for you. My passing love. Pretplati se na: Objavi komentare (Atom).

Of my life, my thoughts, and faith. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Life-WiP: Lesson of Slowing Down. My life is a work-in-progress, hence Life-WiP. Every few weeks I'll share about my life and what I've been learning. I want to hear from you, too, so there will always be a question at the end for you to comment on life lessons you've learned. In this way, you can learn a bit about me and I about you. Then, a week later, I ran into a door, literally. I didn't see it and was running inside. I'm limiting what ...

A few long weeks ago, for the second time in as many years, my laptop brain fried, and I lost everything. If we can squeeze a third positive out of this (and I think we can), in getting my sweet new computer up and running, I decided it was time to clean out some of those bookmarks that haven’t been used since my 9th grade term paper on S.E. Hinton. A quarterly an...

Your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets. But what is this love? How do we love?
