A great WordPress.com site. 50 Shades of As(ana). An internet discussion with old friends about the furor over the upcoming movie Fifty Shades of Grey got me thinking about yoga – what else? If I had a dime for every time I have heard someone say “I went to a yoga class and hated it, so yoga is not for me….”) Why do these seemingly different topics come together for me? Hang on, I’ll tell you. So, am I recommending that you go out and see (or read) Fifty Shades of Grey? This entry was posted in yoga.
Color Me Colorless | finding breathing room

A great WordPress.com site. This is a first for me – a mini book review. I just finished reading Haruki Murakami’s latest book Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgimage. On a superficial level, I loved being transported back to Japan and recognizing the images of Tokyo, particularly the train stations, and the writing is lovely. I am writing about the book here not for those reasons, because it struck a chord with the yogi in me. For a summary of the yogic ideas). And tagged book review.

A great WordPress.com site. No, I don’t intend for you to start singing or book some tickets to the Big Apple. The Breathing Room

What I learned -- yoga can be just a form of stretching, but practiced mindfully, it can be life changing. On a purely physical level, I have found greater strength and balance, improving my tennis game, my posture and my sleep. But more importantly, I have become more mindful off the mat, more patient and more present. 15 years private instruction in Hatha Yoga and PIlates with Ken Owen. Completed Ashtanga Teacher Training with David Swenson. The server encountered an error.

Muscle testing or Kinesiology is a way to tap into that truth. During the Process, which takes about an hour and a half, muscle testing is used repeatedly to guide, direct, and facilitate the person receiving the process.
