April | 2008 | Food and Whine

I preheat a memory I fold in old friends with new I bake a good laugh. Archive for April, 2008. Because I’m a pig…. April 18, 2008. Jusssstttt got back from dinner at Mercat. The reason was this. For desserts we went with the churros with hot chocolate on the regular menu. It was disappointing to see the least. I needed real, satisfying desserts! Infinitely better than the tragic churros). Don't you think it would be very annoying if you tasted ginger for the first time on your death-bed, and found you never liked anything so much? I should be exceedingly annoyed that I think I should get well on that account alone." - The Voyage Out, Virginia Woolf. I'm testing out a new blog on wordpress now. So go check it out. I love me some snacks. | Taste the Ginger

https://tastetheginger.wordpress.com/2007/06/14/i-love-me-some-snacks

8220;I make it a rule to try everything.”. But why, you ask? I love me some snacks. I get hungry fairly often throughout the day. I’m not really one of those people who can just eat 3 square meals and be a happy camper. I need to be munching every few hours or so, like a cow chewing the cud – a beautiful image I know. I thought I would share a few of the things I’ve been snacking on, since they’re mighty tasty. Looks yummy, though, doesn’t it? But I was instantly converted. 35 Downing Street (at Bedford).

8220;I make it a rule to try everything.”. But why, you ask? Word travels fast in this town. Crave Ceviche is a new restaurant that opened just last week, but when I dropped by this past Monday night around 7:30pm, it was like an overstuffed taco, with people pouring out the door. Granted, Crave isn’t very big, it felt as small as my EV room, but is probably about the same size as the first room at Pearl’s Oyster Bar. Now on to the food! 946 second ave (50th st). If you love food but want to make sure you’re also eating healthily, then this is for YOU. Dear fellow food lover do you realize your kitchen can be a far more effective ‘pharmacy’ than surgery or drugs, without all those nasty side effects? And that’s because hardly a day goes by without more scientific research being announced, proving that our everyday foods can help prevent disease or even reversing or reducing its effects. Not that this is anything new. Which is rather ironic. Because, like any busi...

FOOD & WhIskEy.

God, what a mess. Saturday, April 21, 2012. Friday, February 10, 2012. Sunday nights at Brillobox. I'm sorry I've been remiss in posting this recipe. The plate of pasta with walnut-kale pesto- actually a wildly oversimplified name for it, has mushroomed into a nice neighborhood buzz dish. It is easily the most commonly requested recipe in my Brillobox repertoire. I like it too. Feeds four as a main course. Remove from heat to a bowl, cover in plastic film, and allow to steam for twenty minutes or so.
