The group visited a wildlife sanctuary, had lunch in the lush rainforests of the ...

Sydney Olympic Pool – Channelling my Inner Champion (hahaha). August 15, 2015 · Filed under Uncategorized. I swam until I felt I had thought all my thoughts and wondered all my questions, then did one more lap to just feel the experience myself. It’s burned into my memory and that is so much fun! Then, I hauled myself out, padded to the competitors change room and relished what I had just done. I am so glad I went, and I have to say, the rest of the afternoon seemed just a little lack lustre compared!

March 15, 2015 · Filed under Uncategorized. Australian’s views on Tasmania vacillate wildly… Some say it has some of the most spectacular scenery in the country, with endless opportunities to explore rugged coastlines, hike highland trails and savour the eclectic tastes of the city. Others dismiss it as a backward little island, born of convicts and populated by uncultured rednecks (jokes about Tassies being 2-headed bogans seem to roll off peoples tongues with little provocation). After a wonderful week in and around Margaret River, it was time to shift gears and explore the urban offerings of Perth. We arrived in town to find almost the whole downtown closed off to traffic! The next morning was Easter Sunday. The Easter Bunny managed to find us, even in the hotel, and after a quick but exhaustive search, we headed off in search of that less-well-known Easter character, the Easter Quokka.

The Great Aussie Road Trip – First Lag – Melbourne to Sydney (almost). August 15, 2015 · Filed under Uncategorized. The plans for my second term break were kinda up in the air right from the beginning… Fran and I had known we were going out West and to the Centre early on, and the plan for the September break had always been to be up in Queensland so we could get a fix of the tropical waters and the Barrier Reef.
