Namter Sir John Anderson later the 1st Vicount Waverley they were available to all those who had a garden to put them in. They were even free if you earned under 5 a week. Photos of Edinburgh not found on shortbread tins. Tucked away round the back of Merlin Public House on Morningside Road is one of the more secret Farmer’s markets in Edinburgh, and one of the nicer. The back car park of the Merlin is a surprisingly large space in crowded Morningside, where on every third Saturday it is transformed into if not a full on Farmer’s market than a local and artisan’s market (which is every bit as good). The photo above which was submitted to the Edinburgh Evening News is a sheer delight. (I dont know who took this but if someone lets me know then I will credit them.). Its just a bit of fun.
