Is a critical element in planning for inevitable growth occurring in central Texas and beyond. This effort started in 2010 when the Lower Colorado River Authority solicited stakeholders to participate in water planning. Several of our Board members devoted considerable time and resources to this initiative and became aware of how important water policy is in the immediate and long term future of Texas, especially during periods of drought. We need your help to keep water in the lakes. To become a Guardian of the Lakes. Member and help the Central Texas Water Coalition sustain its fight to protect the lakes. CTWC continues to work for regulatory and legislative changes to prevent a recurrence of the 2011 draining of Lakes Buchanan and Travis for downstream agricultural use. We’ve made progress but will need an even stronger voice in the future since those who oppose our efforts are well-funded and organized. Become a Guardian of the Lakes.
