Life with Five! Doodle Bugs: May 2008
http://5doodlebugs.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 30, 2008. Well, the time has come. Josh has officially graduated from elementary school and will be entering the whole new world of junior high. I remember what a life-changing time junior high was for me.a new school, new friends, new schedule, more freedom, more responsibility. So much changes in that time. Now my first born is going to experience it. He's ready. I'm not sure I am. Here is the graduate shaking the principal's hand. Sunday, May 25, 2008. The giant doll house. Later that even...

Sunday, November 22, 2009. Here are some pictures of Sam enjoying his second birthday (May 15th):. James was there to offer his four year old expertise and support at every moment. Trying out the new wheels. The best chocolate ice cream cake.ever! And I think the only smile I caught from him that day. Chocolate will do that for you. Works for me every time.). And onto the next birthday! Savannah turned eight on May 23rd! It was a Saturday, so we were able to spend the entire day celebrating.

Wednesday, February 06, 2008. Happy Birthday, Josh! My first born is twelve. Twelve. Years. Old. In one year he'll be a teenager. Monday, February 04, 2008. But, as usual, I'm the oddball. Most people are anxiously awaiting summer. Me? I could do without it. It's way too bright and hot. Maybe I was an eskimo in a former life. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A glimpse into my wonderful (and often crazy) world. Life with five children- guaranteed to never have a dull moment! View my complete profile.

Life with Five! Doodle Bugs: November 2008
http://5doodlebugs.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 17, 2008. Seriously- where is the time going? Sam turned 18 months old on Saturday. His presence has graced us for a whole year and a half. I just cannot believe how quickly time seems to go- I swear it goes faster and faster every single year. For the occasion, I thought I'd share a sweet picture of my guy. I love his little smile! Since this picture, he has had *eight* new teeth pop through. Um, OUCH. This was pretty funny. Saturday, November 15, 2008. Friday, November 14, 2008. A glim...

Life with Five! Doodle Bugs: August and September 2009: First Day of School
http://5doodlebugs.blogspot.com/2009/12/august-and-september-2009-first-day-of.html
Friday, December 04, 2009. August and September 2009: First Day of School. Anyone who knows me well knows that the first day of school is my least favorite day of the year. No other day serves as a stark reminder how quickly time is passing by and how quickly my sweet kids are growing up. This past August was no different. (But they did look pretty cute, if I do say so myself). Savannah, age 8, first day of third grade. Allyson, age 10, first day of fifth grade. Josh, age 13, first day of eighth grade.

Life with Five! Doodle Bugs: June, July, & August 2009: Summer!
http://5doodlebugs.blogspot.com/2010/01/june-july-august-2009-summer.html
Wednesday, December 02, 2009. June, July, and August 2009: Summer! So, we kicked off June with Savannah's baptism, which proved to be the beginning of a pretty good summer. We didn't really do all that much, but between the lazy days, there were a few days of fun sprinkled in. One Saturday morning, we woke up to find this scene on our doorstep. Grandpa Richard and Grandma Meg had come up and surprised us with Christmas in June, since we were unable to see them over the previous Christmas. FUN! One mornin...

Ode to Butternut Squash – Our Prairie Nest
http://ourprairienest.com/ode-to-butternut-squash
Ode to Butternut Squash. October 16, 2016. October 16, 2016. When we first arrived at our new home, we were on a limited budget and between jobs. So here we were with a house we outright owned, but not quite sure how we would pay the other bills. Of course, that left us with a very limited food budget of $50 a week. How were we going to eat well – and enough? 8211; on $50 a week? Enter the butternut squash. Out of all the vegetables we planted in our first year, this was the one that got us through winter.
