Malaga and Alicante, Spain. Our home for the next month is on the 7th floor of a building and are very fortunate to have a 2 person elevator. After being briefed on the apartment, we hit the streets to explore our neighborhood. La Boqueria Market was the first site on our list and we totally understand why it has become such a tourist attraction. What a display of good things to eat and drink! We woke up early to watch our slow entry into the port of Ponta Degaldo, Azores. The sun was shining and the boat docked right in the middle of town. It was good to see land again! The two adjoining crater lakes in Azores are green and blue. The legend is that there was a passionate love between a person of royalty and a commoner. Lisbon and Cadiz – Bucket List Travels

We woke up to sunshine and warm weather, making for a great day of sightseeing. We went on a shore excursion in Lisboa (Lisbon, Portugal). Aflama is the oldest quarter in Lisbon, and we took a walk through its cobbled labyrinth of narrow twisting alleys complete with steps and archways. Nearby Belem is famous for its landmark tower from where explorers embarked on many voyages. Our bus ride took us through many of the areas of the city with fountains and gardens. Life in Barcelona – Bucket List Travels

The city is also strongly associated with the work of Antoni Gaudi. His crowning gem is Sagrada Familia. Church construction began in the 19th century and may be completed by 2025. It is stunning! While there are amazing tapas, sangria, gelato, wine, cheese, not to mention all the enticing markets and bakeries, there is no gym! I think that will be ok though, my fit bit maxed out one day at about 19,000 steps. We are truly having a wonderful time here as the sights are endless. May 24, 2015.
