Summer months (June/July/August) tends to be humid, hot, very windy with strong currents and waves big enough for surfing (usually 2-6 ft faces). The rest of the year it'll be more pleasant with comfortable temperatures, less or no current, little humidity, not much wind and . unfortunately . few waves big enough to make the long trip from Dubai worthwhile. Oman - Al Ashkharah (Ashkara, Ashkarah). Al Ashkharah is one of the closest places to surf on the Indian Ocean with reasonable swell if you're travelling from Dubai. Asilyah is on the way to Ras Al Had, north of Al Askarah but a similar distance from Dubai - the two locations are about 20-30 minutes drive apart.
