So what is timesnewroman? It's not the font, rather my take on the age we live in. The USA is the new Rome and the times we live in are timesnewroman. Put your virtual pin on the tnrworld map. Chicken Omelette, Nae Peas. Notes from somewhere bizarre. Our Man In Hanoi. I don't believe it. The man who fell asleep. Jane's Life is All Cobblers. Shrine of the blind winger Jones. Life Under Muddled Stars. Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC. Timesnewroman may be wearing a green shirt today. Who links to me?

Generation X-Pired: Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel Fine
http://generationxpired.blogspot.com/2013/08/summer-breeze-makes-me-feel-fine.html
Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel Fine. I came back from a trip to the Cape with the kids to find a pile of back-to-school catalogs on the counter, delivered while we were away. And store circulars are advertising Glade's new autumn scents (Fall Hayride, ewww), and summer clothes are about 75% off by now. The end of summer is around the corner- on a cool day like today it's almost palpable- and it totally sucks. I am absolutely against it. I say, "Bite me.". So, yeah: REALLY. This s...

Generation X-Pired: Goodbye, Grandma
http://generationxpired.blogspot.com/2013/05/goodbye-grandma.html
Monday, May 27, 2013. My gorgeous grandma with her three sons. At her 100th birthday party. My grandmother was warm, generous, and vivacious. She would do anything for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to laugh and have fun. She was a great cook who also loved to eat, and she was always trying to feed us. "EAT! Was the soundtrack of my childhood. She was a force to be reckoned with. HmmI never quite figured that one out. Even in her late 90s, my grandma was still willing to get. A wond...

Generation X-Pired: April 2013
http://generationxpired.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 11, 2013. Mama's Gonna Help Build the Wall. You hear a lot about attachment parenting these days. I'm all for it: I carried my babies on my body more than I pushed them in a stroller, I breastfed both kids until they were old enough to ask for it using four-word sentences and perfect grammar, I co-slept with my youngest until she was one, I never let my babies "cry it out," etc., etc. I'm no Mayim Bialik. But I truly believe a parent cannot "spoil" a baby. With my babies in 2008-. Non-hel...

Generation X-Pired: January 2014
http://generationxpired.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Life's so damn confusing. Used to be amusing. No more carefree musings. Or parties, late-night boozing. Was proud of my abilities. No worrying 'bout utilities. But these days I feel so lazy. Wasting whole days doesn't phase me. My identity is hazy. Maybe I'll do something crazy. What if I dye my hair blue. Or another shocking hue? Why not get a new tattoo? But what good would that do? Should be cleaning but I'm not,. Cuz I'm on Facebook quite a lot. And our dinner's rarely hot.

The View From In Here: The Lack of Posts
http://viewfrominhere.blogspot.com/2007/07/lack-of-posts.html
The View From In Here. Stare at the world long enough, and everything goes blurry. Tuesday, July 10, 2007. The Lack of Posts. For someone who doesn't have a full-time job, I am surprised at the sparse blogging that I've done. While the cliche is that job-hunting is a full-time job unto itself, it is not wholly to blame. There frankly hasn't been all that much of interest that I've wanted to talk about. But on the whole, there's nothing much to say that couldn't be said in one sentence:. Took all the hype.

The View From In Here: Two elephants walks down the street...
http://viewfrominhere.blogspot.com/2007/07/two-elephants-walks-down-street.html
The View From In Here. Stare at the world long enough, and everything goes blurry. Friday, July 13, 2007. Two elephants walks down the street. If you haven't heard this yet, this may be the funniest story to ever happen to the Town of Newmarket. So the circus was in town (ha ha) and the electrified fence for the elephants went down and realizing this, two of them decided to play tourist. The thing is, where the circus was set up (Ray Twinney Complex, it seems), it is surrounded by suburbs. I also enjoyed...

The Last Amazon, Exiled: Being an American Ally really, really sucks.
http://thelastamazonexiled.blogspot.com/2015/08/being-american-ally-really-really-sucks.html
Life is Belief and Struggle - Ahmed Shawqi. Friday, August 7, 2015. Being an American Ally really, really sucks. Obama's latest speech on Iran “ every nation in the world that has commented publicly, with the exception of the Israeli government, has expressed support.”. But that's not true. Canada has commented publicly about the deal and does not support it. Really - just ask the Israelis, Ukrainians, Murbarak, or even the Shah. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
