Ben Nephew, Dave Dunham. Josh Ferenc, Jim Pawlicki. Charlie Therriault and Chris Dunn. At Fort Rock. It is a gnarly course an...

John G's Running: The Long Drive January 7, 2016
https://johngriego123.blogspot.com/2017/01/the-long-drive-january-7-2016.html
Saturday, January 7, 2017. The Long Drive January 7, 2016. On Thursday, January 7, 2016 I hitched a trailer, filled with my "stuff", to my van. And then, somewhere around 10:00 am EST, started the drive from Massachusetts to California. It was a quick ride through Rhode Island and Connecticut. I had an uneventful ride through Oklahoma, but as I drove through the Pan Handle of Texas my low tire light came on. I pulled over and it was freakin' cold! Along Historic Route 66. Entering Arizona I was unsure if...

John G's Running: August 2016
https://johngriego123.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 21, 2016. 11th Wild Duck 5K August 20, 2016. Training has been going fairly well considering it has been over 90 degrees, every day, all summer long. To make matters worse, I hopped on the scale Friday night and saw that I was 4 pounds heavier than the day before the Boston Marathon! Early on Saturday JoAnne and I took the 40 minute drive to Oceanside. (it may be Vista I haven't figured out all the town lines yet). Headed out to warmup and preview the course. The first 3/4 mile was sli...

Going Down Swinging: May 2015
http://gdswinging.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A real blog about nothing really. Saturday, May 30, 2015. I'm not very good at race reports. By the time I get around to it I'm on to something else. Fast forward a bit, after a solid winter( for me) and a bunch of solid 18-20 runs and a bunch of real solid up-tempo 14-16 milers, race day arrived and I was healthy. I figured I should be anywhere between 2:40 and 2:45. First mile. I was completely shocked at how easy it felt. I found three BAA guys, McGIll, Levy, and Lawrence. Krissy K took the photo.

McGrath Running : 1/10
http://scottmcgrathrunning.blogspot.com/2015/01/110.html
The daily meanderings of a New England runner. Saturday, January 10, 2015. First pool workout. I alternated using a kickboard and practicing getting long and breathing with laps of freestyle for half an hour. Very quickly lost track of how many laps. It was good to do something aerobic! Also did about half an hour of yoga looking to lengthen my hamstrings, hips and lower back. It's not running but it's not nothing. Knee remains swollen. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 1 Mile: 4:23 (2006).

The daily meanderings of a New England runner. Friday, January 16, 2015. 44 lengths / half mi swim took a hair over 20 minutes. 75 minutes on the bike at Breakaway computraining. Warmed up 18 minutes then cycled through four long threshold segments. The threshold test I did about a year ago has my threshold at 265 watts which felt very tough tonight. No pain in the injured leg during or after the ride, which was the best news of the night! Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Saturday, January 10, 2015. Wednesda...

Farmrunner: December 2009
http://daharper.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 7, 2009. Mill Cities Relay, week ending 12/6/09. I wasn't sure what to expect with 2hrs sleep, and my legs tend to cramp up after snowplowing. As the brick dropped for the start I started slowly and my legs felt supprisingly good. I began passing people and picked off 10 or 12 runners during the 5.65 mile leg and finished 8th in 32:45, 1:20 faster than last year. Our Coed masters team ended up 3rd in our division.good enough for a brick. Week of 11/30 - 12/6. Thur 10 from home 7:30/mi.
