The Orange Apron: January 2010

http://grandmaleescookbook.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 31, 2010. I decided it was high time to do a post on Grandma's cinnamon rolls. This was probably her most well-known and well-loved recipe. One of the best things I remember about going to Grandma's house is that she would always make you feel special. One of the ways she did this was by serving you cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I mean, who gets to eat cinnamon rolls for breakfast at home? Hey all you family out there: What about you? What is your favorite recipe of Grandma's? Cover with ...

Me & my boys: November 2012

http://matkatielarsen.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Me and my boys. Life is purely a matter of deciding what’s important to you. Nov 19, 2012. Sam, Ben and some snow! We have been busy these past couple weeks. Sam was the star of the week and had to make a poster of himself. He had a ball picking out pictures for it. He was very proud of it! He is so creative! I am always finding his friends all over the house. This time, my pots and pans have become his play area for them. In fact, I had to use a pot and he had a meltdown! I love this kid! Tricks off the...

Monday, August 18, 2014. I made these for James' school lunches. I saw the idea online and loved the make-ahead concept. Plus, what kid doesn't love pizza? Let me know if you make them, and what you think! Refrigerated pizza crust dough. Mozzerella cheese, shredded. Best if served warm, but ideal for school lunches. Let cool (on a rack). Then pop a couple into a lunch box! Or freeze for future lunches! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Corn bread muffin mix. Cream of . soup. Green chili enchilada sauce.

Sunday, December 15, 2013. Quick and Easy Green Chili Enchiladas. We came home from church today hungry and impatient. I saw the green chili enchilada sauce (Hatch brand, of course) in the cupboard and suggested smothered bean burritos. Somehow that involved quickly into a super quick (and surprisingly delicious) green chili enchilada. The whole family really enjoyed it; even my critical kidlets were singing its praises and asking for seconds! Yum Here's how we did it. 1 can cream of chicken. Friday, Dec...

Tuesday, September 9, 2014. School lunch: hot lunch. During the never-ending winters we seem to have, my son gets kind of tired of cold lunches and craves something more cozy and warm. http://i-heart-yum.blogspot.com/2014/09/our-school-lunch-system.html

Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Our school lunch system. I 've been packing school lunches for my boy for two years now. It's something that stressed me out immensely, so I did my research beforehand. After searching and searching online (Google and Pinterest are my friends) and perusing my local Wally World, I came up with the following basic how-to. It's stood the test of time (or a bajillion school lunches, anyway), and we're quite happy with our system. They're easy for little hands to open without help...

Friday, February 7, 2014. Cooking tip: quick brownies. Do you love brownies but hate waiting the 30 minutes for them to bake? Well, we did. So we tried something new (that may be common practice in most households but was a novel concept in ours): bake them on a. Using a standard box of brownies, prepared as directed, this reduces the baking time to a mere 15 minutes*! Not bad, eh? You feel like much more of a pig eating half the pan! Be sure to use one with a raised edge! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Peanut-butter 'sandwiches' on crackers. Sunday, August 25, 2013. Meat and cheese kabobs. Lunch meat (2 pieces). String cheese, cut (1). Skewered on toothpicks (6). Celery with ranch dressing. Anything's funner on a stick, right? It was there all along; he just hadn't noticed it somehow! I still felt bad, but less guilty for sure! I'm nervou...
