Marshmallow cloud painting: you will need marshmallows, white paint mixed with corn syrup (makes it glisten) and pa...

TODAY AT PLAY: Everything was about frogs
http://todayatplay.blogspot.com/2011/09/everything-was-about-frogs.html
Friday, September 23, 2011. Everything was about frogs. Five green and speckled frogs sat on a speckled log. Eating some most delicious bugs. One jumped into the pool where it was nice and cool. Then there were four green and speckled frogs. We watched the tadpoles for a long time and guestimated how many there were in the container. We made green paint and painted frogs. We glued frogs onto lily pads and pasted them on the pond. We read books about Fergus the Frog with the googly eyes. And how it happens.

An Icy Day | The Wife Knits

Knit 1, Hook 2, Cook 3. After a few unusual days of warmth we’ve had quite a thaw in Madison. Most of the snow is gone from our streets and yards, so it was quite an experience to feel the chill come back in full force and to visit a frozen lake. It was amazing to see such a big body of water frozen, and to see ATVs and people out in the middle of it! But I am glad to be safe at home and back in the warm. Which is always a pleasant experience when you have plenty of wool around. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Thursday, October 27. Ferry Bluff State Natural Area. With the help of a new friend. We found ourselves at Ferry Bluff. Which just happens to be right across the river from the natural area closest to our home, Mazomanie Bottomlands. It was awesome to climb up on that bluff look across at the sandbars (I love sandbars! I also felt on this day that River started to understand a bit of his name. We didn't have river in our vocabulary much, but now River lives by a river and will be able to explore his name...
