December 20, 2014. Recently I recieved another delivery of 77 lbs (35 kg) green Arabica coffee beans from Nepal. Produces excellent coffee in the hillsides of the Himalayas. This coffee has become a favorite among my colleagues and friends. At Greenland Organic Farm they grow both tea and coffee in the beautifull hill sides of the Himalayas. The drum has a capacity of 5 lbs coffee beans in one session. The rotisserie spear is fastened to the drum. The grill is fired up and the rotisserie starts running. Problemet med røykutvikling oppstår først ved mørkbrenning, det vil si når bønnene får en kjernetemperatur på 225 grader og går gjennom andre popping. Så lenge man holder seg til lys- og mellommørk brenning kan man fint gjøre dette i en langpanne. Når man sprer bønnene utover som ett lag i langpannen kan man brenne omtrent 300 gram kaffe om gangen. Sett pannen i kald ovn og still inn ovnen på varmluft 215 grader.

Månedlige arkiver: desember 2014. Desember 21, 2014. Nå som vinteren har kommet er det ikke lenger så fristende å brenne kaffe på verandaen. Heldigvis har vi en stor garasje som er perfekt til hjemmebrenning. Trommelen kan ta rundt to kilo råkaffe per brenning. Spydet som tilhører grillens rotisseri settes gjennom trommelen og festes. Vel plassert på grillen er det bare å fyre opp og starte rotisseriet. En motor roterer trommelen jevnt og sakte under brenningen. På toppen festes støvsugerslangen gjennom ...

Desember 20, 2014. Nylig mottok jeg for andre gang en sending på 35 kg råkaffe fra Nepal. Kaffefarmen Greenland Organic Farm. Produserer nydelig arabicakaffe i Himalaya som har blitt en favoritt blant mine venner og kollegaer. Greenland Organic Farm dyrker både te og kaffe i de fantastiske fjellsidene. Kaffen dyrkes i skyggen av de store trærne. Kaffebønnene plukkes for hånd. Etter våtprosessering der fruktkjøttet fjernes blir bønnene soltørket før de sorteres og pakkes. LA FINCA LA RUBIA.
