This photo was taken in 2000 and it was before we replaced all our windows. This post is full of photos that are interesting for Dear and me in documenting the progression of our home improvements. Now for the process step by step…somewhat. This photo shows the planter (rosemary bush) cleared out and ready for new plantings. We are considering p...

Musings of a Ranch Wife. Makin' Life Better One Biscuit At A Time. Friday, May 15, 2015. The Gift of Hospitality. It is an awesome rainy morning here in the south plains of Texas! The grass is green, the flowers are blooming and the cows are getting fat and sassy! What could be better then that? Rain makes everything better does it not? After the last several years of drought it is a welcome relief. Thank you Jesus! Did you know that Bible talks many times about hospitality? There are many more reference...

The Happy Wonderer ellen b. To honor and encourage. August 26, 2016. We have an attic that is easy to access with a drop down staircase. We keep holiday bins up there, luggage, old files, Katie’s stuff, and some of Dear’s parents memorabilia. We also have our kids old toys that we drag down when we have little ones visiting. Looking down from the attic to our main floor. The process begins. Wiring also needed to be moved and tucked away. The new carpeting installed and the bins organized. August 14, 2015.

The Happy Wonderer ellen b. To honor and encourage. September 18, 2015. Mid September Walk…. Yesterday I was sitting reading blogs and visiting Pom Pom’s Ponderings. And she said ” I’ve decided to walk more and do it in the morning before it gets too warm. 8221; I left a comment about the fact that I should be walking but was sitting and then low and behold, I got up, put on my walking shoes and made it around my circuit before the rains came! Look at all these ducks in this neighbor’s back yard! It real...

July 26, 2015 2:42 pm. Boy, I feel like all I do is make excuses for not posting these days. How is it that there’s not a lot going on, but it’s still really busy? Or, maybe there is a lot going on, it’s just not sewing and fun stuff to share? I’ve also had fun in the kitchen. A cousin that we don’t get to see very often popped in for a quick visit. One night I made the Lazy Day Overnight Lasagne. With some yummy Artisan Bread. The Lasagne isn’t necessarily guest-worthy, but it. Clamshell has been a patt...

Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Here she comes.and there she goes. Elizabeth returned home from her freshman year of college enthused. After unpacking and moving into her new "digs" Ellen's old room, we headed to Natchitoches.home of the meat pies. Now whomever came up with this was a marketing genius, because anyone in Louisiana knows that if you pass through Natchitoches, the thing to do.is to eat a meat pie. Well, we didn't exactly go for the meat pies! To have a day off of school! One of the neatest stores ...

A Novemberish day | Oak Hill Vignettes
https://oakhillvignettes.wordpress.com/2012/11/02/novemberish-thoughts
By Oak Hill Studio. A few leaves are still hanging on, even after windy Sandy blew through earlier this week! Some chilly air and gray clouds have moved in making it feel. Novemberish today. Even so, it was a good day to get some yard work done. The garden now has a blanket of leaves covering it, just waiting for God and nature to break them down and enrich the soil for next year’s crop. Doing what I love. By Oak Hill Studio. By now, you probably have a pretty good idea of where I’m heading with this, and yes, the piano has something to do with it. When the kids were little, as part of their homeschooling studies, I began teaching them piano when they were young. I had never taught before, only. What I have come to realize in regard to each of these perceived hindrances is that there. So, what have I been up to these past several months? It has a beautiful sound, much better than my gran...

Finding inspiration in the writings of Carol Montparker | Oak Hill Vignettes

Finding inspiration in the writings of Carol Montparker. By Oak Hill Studio. But sometimes gems can be found, as was the case when I recently stumbled across pianist / teacher/ artist / author / nature-lover, Carol Montparker. Her love for each of these things (that I happen to love also) led me to immediately request one of her books from inter-library loan. I ended up with. A Pianist’s Lanscape. The first chapter of the book is entitled. Later chapter titles include,. A Pianist’s Journal in Venice.
