gyrovagueness: December 2007
http://gyrovagueness.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Back and forth across the glistening surfaces. Monday, December 31, 2007. Unlike Nick Fury here. Found in the Jack Kirby Museum. I guess I am. The faintin' type, having experienced syncope a couple of times. Once I blacked out while having blood taken, which was odd as I've seen blood a few times and not been bothered - I think it was the idea of it being sucked out of me (ventricles collapsing inwards like a leaky football) that got me. Links to this post. Saturday, December 29, 2007. Coming to rest,.
gyrovagueness: January 2008
http://gyrovagueness.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Back and forth across the glistening surfaces. Friday, January 25, 2008. Can I write about nature. When I don't live in a cottage. At the end of a dark. Lane swathed in woodsmoke. Evenings of infinite depth,. Or know the names of birds? The sea is saltwater, my blood. I've seen 'rivers' flow into 'bays',. Waves', and something that opens. The guts of its prey. Just for the half-digested. So I reckon I get to mention. As well as the roofs curved silvery. On a recently constructed. Links to this post.

Back and forth across the glistening surfaces. Thursday, May 29, 2008. Hey its a band with my name. Wonder if we can produce a gadget like this featuring our new advert? Raised by wolves on waste ground in Portslade, I learned to pass as human by reading discarded comics as they turned to papier mache in the rain. View my complete profile. gyrovagueness: November 2007
http://gyrovagueness.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Back and forth across the glistening surfaces. Friday, November 30, 2007. The Ragged-Trousered Army Men. I've been pondering the holes in the uniforms of illustrated American soldiers (doesn't everyone at this time of year? Here's the thing. In US war comics, it's notable how the heroes sport uniforms that are ripped and torn. DCs Sgt Rock has always been something of a tatterdemalion:. Whilst over at Marvel Sgt Fury is no Beau Brummel:. Why might this be? During the Silver Age of the 60s and 70s, war co...
gyrovagueness: Trax of the ElectroNorns
http://gyrovagueness.blogspot.com/2008/04/trax-of-electronorns.html
Back and forth across the glistening surfaces. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Trax of the ElectroNorns. Some things from the past few days. Went to a meeting in Bury, with a lift from a driver whose online routeplan, produced with the cold solid-state logic of the electronic Norns who weave the journeys unspooled by such devices, took a direct route infinitely longer and more interesting than a human one. Pigged out on sandwiches and Hula Hoops. And later some apple pie. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

jellynewt: The move from Wogan to Evans on BBC Radio 2
http://jellynewt.blogspot.com/2010/01/move-from-wogan-to-evans-on-bbc-radio-2.html
Monday, 11 January 2010. The move from Wogan to Evans on BBC Radio 2. The fact that Radio 2 has cut Sarah Kennedy’s slot in favour of Chris Evans marks a double blow for me in the mornings. I used to enjoy waking up to Sarah Kennedy going through the newspapers, largely because I don’t buy one and Kennedy is mad as a hatter so it was doubly entertaining. The listener contribution on the Wogan show made you realise just how many very cleaver, witty and talented people there are out there. The listener...
jellynewt: September 2009
http://jellynewt.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, 26 September 2009. So, I’m relocating to here. Hopefully a better, new home for my photos where I will be able to upload new work and have a space available for comments too. It is a relocation, so initially the images uploaded may be ones you’ve seen before, only this time with a short commentary too. Sorry about the repetition. I’ll get it over with as soon as possible. When the relocation is complete I will delete the website and that will be that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
jellynewt: August 2009
http://jellynewt.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 24 August 2009. A brief report of my 4 encounters with the Home Delivery Network (HDNL):. Delivery driver left my Christmas presents on the front doorstep (we live on a main road). Result: parcels (i.e. all my Christmas presents) were stolen. Delivery driver threw £60 of (hardback) books over our (over 6ft) gates, in the rain. Result: Books not only landed in lake-like puddle, but also landed on their corner and were destroyed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Philip K. Dick. Walking home to 50.
jellynewt: Redemption 2009
http://jellynewt.blogspot.com/2009/02/redemption-2009.html
Monday, 23 February 2009. Redemption 2009 was brilliant. This was our first time at this particular convention and it certainly lived up to expectations. For years friends have been telling us about how friendly and fun it was - and it's true! As with all things though, hearing endless praise is never as much fun as enjoying a good moan or bit of gossip. So I shall swiftly move on from my unending praise for Redemption and everyone there to discuss the Britannia Hotel in Coventry. Moving into the room it...
jellynewt: Some of my favourite things from 2009:
http://jellynewt.blogspot.com/2010/01/some-of-my-favourite-things-from-2009.html
Saturday, 2 January 2010. Some of my favourite things from 2009:. I especially love the pocket info books that allow you to make your own guide book to wherever you may be travelling. Although their City books. Are great if they do one for the location you are travelling to. I'm using the Japanese fold-out. Style one to create a giant collage of the year (2010) with drawings and images from my PoGo printer (see below). Much more interesting than keeping a diary. An entire library in my handbag!
jellynewt: Spitting
http://jellynewt.blogspot.com/2008/10/spitting.html
Tuesday, 7 October 2008. Let’s face it, it’s gross. Yet I am ever astounded by the amount of ‘spitters’ out there. I mean, really, this is the 21st century. News reports are claiming we’ve reached the pinnacle of our evolution. It was almost hypnotic. But my question is. What’s the attraction? I mean it wasn’t like he was. The tobacco. Can anyone provide an explanation for this strange cultural practice? In the hall of residence in Leningrad where I was unfortunate enough to live for 5 months, indoor.

“To live at all is miracle enough” | The least we can do is wave to each other

The least we can do is wave to each other. 8220;To live at all is miracle enough”. January 7, 2009 in stuff. Like many folks, I discovered Mervyn Peake. As a result of reading. Lord of the Rings. Not, of course, that Peake’s writing in any way resembles Tolkein’s. It was simply that in 1969 there was little in the way of ‘follow-on’ literature once LOTR had hooked you into literature fantastical. And the nonsense poems. I loved his book illustrations. Too (there is no better. A Lull in the Proceedings.

Wednesday, December 17, 2008. OK, there was no puma. One of these excuses as I recall was 'escaped puma at Coulsdon'. Felt VR3 First Ride and Review. October 9, 2016. I took delivery of a lovely new Felt VR3. Road bike on Friday. This is a genre-bending road/endurance/gravel bike, with a sub-1000g carbon frame, disk brakes and room for up to 38mm tires. After reading a set of raves reviews in August after it was announced (e.g. Velonews. Top-tube mount for a Dark. Stock tires are Vittoria Rub...
