My Blog has moved…. Cleaning, Clearing and Organizing…. September 9, 2010. In the past few months- with a lot of support from my cheerleaders, supporters and “hands on” coaches- I have been doing a lot of clearing, cleaning and organizing. Last Monday I sorted through all of my clay which included. Five trays of canes, mostly simple dots in an array of colors- some several years old. I really enjoy making paper collages using magazine clippings. Over the years I have made hundreds of Color collages, 11″ x 17″, intended for use as color references and teaching aids. Maggie Maggio. First introduced me to intuitive color collaging at a Color Workshop we taught together in 1998 at Ravensdale. Making small (5″x7″) collages that did tell a story. Responses to “Visual Journal”. 2 lbs peeled, seeded and de-pithed pumpkin cut into two inch chunks. One large yellow onion, peeled and cut into quarters. One head of garlic, outer skin removed. One large apple, peeled and cored, cut in half. 2 large hatch chilies, seeded. 3 cups vegetable or chicken stock. Juice of one lemon. Serve with crusty bread- in the spirit of Fall. 24 parts Cadmium Yellow. 8 part Ultramarine Blue. Or no current means of refrigeration. My next few post are inspired by the famous Chef Jacques Pepin. My local PBS station is running his cooking show series based upon his book Complete Technique and portions of the demos are available on his website. I delight in watching someone dice an onion, perfectly, with precision and ease in under a minute! Admitably he has over fifty years of culinary experience under his apron. Most of what he has to say about knives and cutting skills are readily translatable to working with polymer clay. Caution...
