Signs & Symptoms. In 2006, HAVEN was one of 16 agencies in North Carolina to benefit from Rape Prevention Education Program (RPE). This program led to HAVEN’s having a specialist staff member who facilitated weekly educational seminars and trainings to create dialogue about sexual violence. Knowledge, Experience and Support. Signs & Symptoms. Today, HAVEN embraces children who have lived with abuse and domestic violence, offering safety and counseling, as well as emotional and academic support. In 2003, A Child’s HAVEN was developed to support the youngest victims of crime. This program is the only one in Lee County which specifically addresses the needs of and provides programs for children who have lived with domestic violence.
