Awaiting a Miracle

Tuesday, March 20, 2018. This picture got out of order for some reason.but it is believed that these chains were used to restrain the Apostle Paul. This was our first stop of the day. St. Pauls Basilica. It was breathtaking as are all of the places to visit in Italy. If you read the New Testament at all those chains are equal parts beautiful and brutal. A vivid reminder that we are indeed ****** to Christ. Yet He is our freedom. Paul lived that out for us to see and emulate. It was actually a lot of fun.

Awaiting a Miracle: The beginning

http://homeof5.blogspot.com/2008/10/beginning.html

Monday, October 6, 2008. June 11, 2002 (one day before her actual due date) my water broke at around 6:30 am Shep came home from Bible study and we took off for the hospital. My contractions were steady and sharp.can anyone say epidural! I was ready. I thought I would get the epidural and then feel really good and wait until someone told me to start pushing. That is what I had seen from my sister-in-law so why shouldn't it happen to me. Our child could not eat, could not play or manipulate a toy, was ver...

Awaiting a Miracle: May 2015

http://homeof5.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 25, 2015. I was riding back from somewhere with Andrea before we were married. I told her it was about to rain. She scoffed at me and asked how I could say such a thing with such certainty. I told her I was part Cherokee and that I was in touch with the elements. She thought I was full of it…until it started raining. The truth is that it had little to do with any Indian blood and more with living a life outside and paying attention to the signs. It’s about to storm. I learned that as a boy.

Awaiting a Miracle: December 2014

http://homeof5.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 30, 2014. I absolutely swapped out "mercy" for "merry". Merry implies smiles and fun and cares that are miles away. Mercy implies help that got me through. Here in the South we say,. Lord, have mercy.". It is kind of generic and it can fit many occasions. Butfor me.and for this Christmas.the Lord had mercy. I just had to let you in on the meltdown picture. But look at the quick recovery. But somewhere along the way I was captured by the performance and the baby that God sent to redeem me.

Awaiting a Miracle: Disappointed Part 2

http://homeof5.blogspot.com/2015/08/disappointed-part-2.html

Friday, August 7, 2015. Trials and difficulties give us opportunities for faith or fizzle. In my last post I admitted to a season of disappointment. Let me clarify: God does not disappoint. But I believe He is ok with us being disappointed. God is consistently good. God is always at work to produce fruit in our lives. Allowing us to face difficulties, some of them lasting for years,. Has a way of producing such richness in us that God knows the pain and disappointment will be worth the outcome. Do someth...

Awaiting a Miracle: Disappointment. Devotion. Living.

http://homeof5.blogspot.com/2015/08/disappointment-devotion-living.html

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Disappointment. Devotion. Living. We are a fickle bunch. If we are disappointed with service at a restaurant we usually don't go back. If we are disappointed with a person we lose trust. If we are disappointed with a song we change the music selection. If we are disappointed with circumstances we look for a way out. Disappointment is a tough thing. All of us, in some way or another, are dealing with disappointment. Maybe you just don't admit that you are disappointed. How could I...

Become a Tour Host. Review Policy and Rating. Sunday, August 16, 2015. Book Review: Kick Push by Jay McLean. Published: August 4, 2015. There’s a single defining moment within every skater. It lasts only a second. Two if you're good. Three if you’re really good. It’s the moment you’re in the air, your board somewhere beneath you, and nothing but wind surrounds you. It’s the feeling of being airborne. The sixteen-year-old version of me would’ve said it was the greatest feeling in the world. He's such a cu...
