http://homeschoolingconnor.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2009. On the list of things he enjoys, Connor listed 12 activities: Reading, Dissecting, building, guitar, Math, Chinese, Tae Kwon do, etc. Pretty much everything that we do for school! Our son actually LIKES learning now. Mission accomplished. Links to this post. Monday, July 27, 2009. Links to this post. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Not on the test. This is a wonderful little video about NCLB and the federally mandated tests. Http:/ www.notonthetest.com/index.html. Links to this post.

Homeschooling Connor: May 2009
http://homeschoolingconnor.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2009. I think today I'll finish my vocabulary book," Connor declared at 7am this morning. Self-directed, student-led learning. What a concept! After my vocabulary book, I am going to finish The Hobbit, correct my Math pages and work on my story about pirates." Yes, he sets a plan for himself now, writes it down and gets down to business. I would never have envisioned homeschooling in this manner. I am a teacher, and I make the lesson plans- NOT. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Homeschooling Connor: Another person's view of home-schooling
http://homeschoolingconnor.blogspot.com/2010/02/another-persons-view-of-home-schooling.html
Sunday, February 28, 2010. Another person's view of home-schooling. I cut and copied this from another person's facebook. The author is Collette Deneault/Oldham. My views on homeschooling were the typical concerns:. 1) I felt they weren't being socialized (based on one family I knew. Whose kids did not know how to socialize.). 2) I felt they couldn't possibly be learning as much as I was. Teaching"…….I was sure every kid was dying to know their. Multiplication tables through music…. Same page in order to...

Homeschooling Connor: December 2011
http://homeschoolingconnor.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 15, 2011. The school bumped Connor up a grade and then put him in the accelerated classes too. At the same time, they were able to completely customize a curriculum for John and Ben. With only 4 other students in Ben's class (and an average of 16 students per graduating class) all the boys receive a customized, almost as good as home, education. Praise God. Links to this post. Homeschooling Connor: On the cheap
http://homeschoolingconnor.blogspot.com/2010/03/on-cheap.html
Saturday, March 6, 2010. I'm also starting to cut coupons and shop for groceries at Tops, instead of Wegmans. Last week I entered my name in a drawing, and we attended a performing arts show in Rochester because I won the tickets. That show would have cost us $150.00 or more. Yep, I'm going to cut-back on nonessentials while still giving Connor the best education possible. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This is my son's blog! Home-schooling, a kids survival guide. Homeschooling Connor: Upcoming Trip!
http://homeschoolingconnor.blogspot.com/2010/03/upcoming-trip.html
Saturday, March 13, 2010. It's Saturday, but Connor is doing school-work all day because of our upcoming trip to China. He has to finish his vocabulary up to lesson 10, and he is spending extra time on Chinese lessons too. Of course while we are in China he will be learning a TON of stuff, just not the things I have listed on my IHIP plan. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This is my son's blog! Monday, December 28, 2009. It is officially Christmas break from school. Cheng is home, Austin is home and Connor is home. Oh boy. Luckily, Cheng has basketball games all week, Austin has indoor track, and Connor has Tae Kwon do. For Christmas Connor received $67.00 cash, and today he wants me to take him to the bookstore to spend it all. Yes, Connor wants to buy $67.00 worth of books! Links to this post.
