Tuesday, June 30, 2015. The Beauty Of It All - Linville Gorge. Our family recently hiked part of the east rim of Linville Gorge in NC. We made our way up to the top of Table Rock and found these incredible views of the Gorge - "The Grand Canyon Of The East". We recently went out on a wonderful family outing to hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail along the NC/TN border and across the Roan Mountain Balds. Sunday, March 18, 2012. St Patricks Day seemed fitting for a marathon paddle. Matt Cesmat, Rob Cornwell. And I launched at the northern end of Lake Norman at 7am and paddled 27.2 miles south to the other end. The day after was another beautiful day with no rest. Spent the afternoon with the family on bikes and SUP boards. We went out to dinner on the water by boat. My beautiful bride drove the boat while I SUP surfed its wake 2.5 miles all the way to the restaurant nonstop! March 19, 2012 at 7:50 AM.

The flight path into Portland takes us right over the Columbia River Gorge - this is the right hand side of the plane view - that is Mt Adams (Washington state) in the distance and the town of Hood River (center right just below the river).
