Denice's Day: May 2015
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Sunday, May 31, 2015. I didn’t know it takes eight hundred grapes to make one bottle of wine. I need to savor a little bit more. Is the story of secrets kept and then discovered truths. Georgia Ford is from a grape growing wine making family. Her father took the risk and carved out a life that Georgia can’t imagine not being a part of until bad harvests made her take stock of her future. Georgia’s fiancé has a big one. Her parents have big ones. This ...

Denice's Day: July 2014
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Most of us have different friends for different parts of our lives. I have a good friend who has many friends and one day I commented to her that she has someone to do something with no matter what she is going to do. Concert? She knows someone who loves them. Antique shop hopping? She has someone who loves to do that. Going for a walk on a nature trail? She has a walking friend. Berry picking? Last January we mailed to each ot...

Denice's Day: Stick dolls
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2015/08/stick-dolls.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Summer is winding down. There's still a whole month before school starts but the kids are getting tired of it, though they would never admit that, especially Elizabeth. During summer I have them on Thursdays. When I was unpacking I discovered the wasi tape and tongue depressors and we set to making "wasi people." Wow. What an activity! Took off with this project! Don't they look like they're wearing golf togs? One week to go ...

Denice's Day: June 2015
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Monday, June 29, 2015. Life is just a bowl of cherries. This summer is all upside down for us because it's continuing to march on but we feel like we're missing it. We're busy and tired and in a state of confusion in this house. So when the opportunity to return to South Haven to have dinner with friends came up, we took it, and decided to pick cherries while we were there in orchard country. But now, what to do with ten pounds of sweet cherries?

Denice's Day: March 2015
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Monday, March 30, 2015. Last Saturday I boarded a bus filled with friends and strangers and went to the International Quilt Show in Chicago for the day. It was a flawless day filled with quilts and vendors and a welcome break from thinking about selling this house and finding somewhere else to live. There were tastes and textures for everyone. Thursday, March 26, 2015. Well, that was a mistake! What a mess. This is a prime example why I don't use ...

Denice's Day: December 2014
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Monday, December 29, 2014. It seems to me that looking back on the year past and taking stock of the good things that came our way, appreciating the little things, is a better way of improving one's outlook on life. In a wonderful book called Time Stops for No Mouse. By Michael Hoeye, Hermux, the main mouse, took time every night to keep a little journal (it would be little wouldn't it? So, not to belittle anyone. Time Stops For No Mouse. And this lit...

Denice's Day: Little Paris Bookshop
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2015/08/normal-0-false-false-false-en-us-x-none.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Monday, August 3, 2015. I’m enjoying the new trend of books set in the world of books! While I hope the publishing world doesn’t go overboard on the trend, I do feel comfortable in that world. It’s a little like a combination of walking into a newly discovered bookstore and just being around like minded people. The Little Paris Bookshop. On his (and our) journey through France Jean comes to life. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bee In My Bonnet.

Denice's Day: Happy Birthday
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2015/08/happy-birthday.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Monday, August 10, 2015. Our Ceci turned five last week and Saturday we went to her party. Her birthday party was at her dance studio and her little friends came ready to dance. They all had a fantastic time dancing, doing the limbo, and for me the highlight was watching Ceci tap her friends with a lighted wand and 'freeze' them to the song from Frozen, "Let it Go." Way too much fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP.

Denice's Day: October 2014
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Thursday, October 30, 2014. Monday, October 27, 2014. A Sudden Light by Garth Stein. I’m not quite sure how to classify this novel. Ghost story, certainly. Coming of age, yes. Historical, yes, there’s some of that, too. Mystery. Oh, and environmental. If you’re inclined toward any of those genres you’ll appreciate this new story by Garth Stein, author of The Art of Racing in the Rain. Labels: A sudden light. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Denice's Day: July 2015
http://weesied.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A little quilting, reading, and an occasional cookie. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Circling the Sun by Paula McLain. In the past few years there seem to be a lot of books about the woman behind the man, or the woman we just didn’t know that much about but was a trailblazer in a time when we are told only men blazed trails. Author Paula McLain has hit written another success story. I knew next to nothing about Beryl Markham before reading Circling the Sun. Did I say she was fearless? She is introduced to and ...
