Yes, it's been quite a long time since my last post, so I wouldn't wonder there's no one left to listen to me. Life's been quite hectic around here and I haven't found the time to blog in English. Shame on me. But I want that to change, because The Winter Guest. Is in the process of moving to my Spanish blog, El invitado de invierno. Subscribe here to the English version.
The Winter Guest: Is this me?
http://invitadoinviernoeng.blogspot.com/2009/03/spring.html
Follow me by email. View my complete profile. 160;Monday, March 23, 2009. I'm an English into Spanish translator, who was a chemist for 15 years before actually becoming translator. I'm from Madrid, Spain, and at present I live in a small town North-West of Madrid with my family. I don't know if my chemist past has something to do with my present love for cooking. when I was in college a common way of teasing Chemistry students was to call us cooks. Absurd as an insult. And in case you were interested in...

Is a very popular Spanish seafood salad, normally made with an assortment of shellfish, green pepper, onion, garlic, sometimes tomato, of course seasoned with olive oil and vinegar. In Galicia. A region famous for its fresh seafood and fish, both of excellent quality, salpicón. Made only with crab can be found at many restaurants and bars. I've followed the recipe in this Galician blog. Where I very often order crab salpicón.

Follow me by email. View my complete profile. Ponche segoviano or Segovia layer cake. 160;Tuesday, July 6, 2010. I have a soft spot for Segovia. It is such a beautiful city, one of my favourites. For Madrilenians like me, Segovia has always been one of the classic day-trips at any time of year (it's only 60 km away), mainly for its succulent suckling lambs. poor things. I recall having visited it quite some times as a child. As a child it is impossible not to be impressed by its Alcázar. But egg yolk cus...

Saturday, June 19, 2010. Hello World.or the 3 People Who Still Read This (I Heart You). Okay, I know it's been a while. A really long while, and to be honest the thing that bothers me the most about not blogging is that I've got about a thousand chicken pictures backed up that I'm longing to showcase. I know, it's sad. Several months of not blogging and the only thing I care about is showing you chicken pictures. My gosh somebody slap me. Status I am out a computer for a while and am borrowing Helmut's.

Monday, April 14, 2014. 5 Pitfalls of the Eat Clean Diet. We began our own version of the Eat Clean diet about 5 years ago. I was trying to figure out what was causing me to get frequent headaches and after much reading decided there was a good chance they were connected to something I was eating, specifically processed food additives and chemicals. I should clarify my definition of eating clean:. No processed food, or food with ingredients that are not whole foods. Mostly organic food where available.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010. My birthday was two weeks ago, and since I think I've learned as much as the little 3 mega pixel camera in my iphone. Can teach me, I asked Helmut. To get me a real camera as my birthday gift. He did as promised and allowed me to have my pick. The first one I got was a Fuji 10 mega pixel point and click digital camera. The pictures were just okay, but not much of an improvement from my iphone. Game distraction (Hayden), we managed to pick out a Nikon DX. Toasted Gnocchi with...

Friday, January 17, 2014. The Magnesium Albuterol Connection. Albuterol causes your body to flush magnesium. At that time my aunt told me about The Magnesium Miracle. I was at the end of my rope mentally, freaking out inwardly wondering if we were going to end up having to give him steroids for his lungs and eventually end up taking daily inhalers. We had been prescribed these avenues before but were able to get by comfortably using homeopathic treatments. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Tale of our Miles.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010. I probably should have corrected the kids the first time they called this lovable little icon Poo Poo, but I just couldn't help myself. They still think that's his real name. What? Some kids grow up believing a fat guy in a red suit at the mall gives them Christmas presents, let me have my fun. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. The Truth about Barbacoa. Have I told you the story about Barbacoa. I don't think I have, and since I just consumed my weight in barbacoa. Shredded meat, some fres...

Tools of the Trade. Home & Garden. How To Start a Food Blog. August 24, 2009. This recipe comes from the winner of The Next Food Network Star, Melissa d’Arabian, and was featured on the first episode of her new show, Ten Dollar Dinners. Since I had done a recap of some of the winning dishes from the show for my FoodBuzz 24,24,24 event. 8211; and I was obviously enthralled by this dish. It looked fabulous and I was thrilled that it tasted even better than it looked on the show! Isn’t she pretty? 1 To make...

Life and food without onion. Author Archives: No Onion Please. Beer risotto with chanterelles and bacon. August 21, 2011. This weekend I had culinary holidays. Mr. No Onion Please disappeared in a cottage among woods with his friends and that meant only one for me – FREEDOM! I could eat whatever I want, without murmurs and complaints – pancakes as a main dish of the day? The recipe for basic beer risotto comes from THIS. Book I pimped it up with adding some pancetta, thyme and of course chanterelles!
