ke7ejx's light: I Was A Mormon
http://ke7ejxlighthouse.blogspot.com/2015/12/i-was-mormon.html
Come now, and let us reason together" Isaiah 1:18 KJV. View my complete profile. Monday, December 28, 2015. I Was A Mormon. I threw myself completely into the world of Mormonism. I went to early morning seminary on a daily basis, went on Temple trips, watched General Conference, and served part-time as a missionary. I tried to proselytize my friends and family. I was in love with Mormonism and everything about it. I planned to live and even die if necessary for the church and its good name. I Was A Mormon.

JB and the JWs: Books Read, 2007 to Present
http://jbandjws.blogspot.com/2010/01/books-read-2007-to-present.html
JB and the JWs. Friday, January 8, 2010. Books Read, 2007 to Present. I figure this is a decent place to keep a record of the books I read. I have a file on my own computer where I do it, but there's nowhere online where I have the exact same list, all in one place and in a single posting. So, since the start of the year 2007 and in the order in which I finished them, I've read:. Social World of Ancient Israel: 1250-587 B.C.E. By Victor H. Matthews and Don C. Benjamin. The Kalam Cosmological Argument.

Tekton Ticker: Bad News on the Personal Front
http://tektonticker.blogspot.com/2015/07/bad-news-on-personal-front.html
Thursday, July 2, 2015. Bad News on the Personal Front. I'll use this week's Ticker post to alert to some bad news from the Holding household.my wife is now unemployed, and that's a severe blow to our household budget. We've been so stingy over the years that we're far from being that "one paycheck away from the street" scenario, but I'm not one to sit by and let things fall by the wayside. For those interested, I have posted a fuller account of what has happened here. Posted by J. P Holding. Revive Us A...

Tekton Ticker: Journey Through Orthodoxy, Part 1
http://tektonticker.blogspot.com/2015/06/journey-through-orthodoxy-part-1.html
Friday, June 19, 2015. Journey Through Orthodoxy, Part 1. From the March 2012 E-Block. More than once in the past 10 or so years, I've been mistaken for being Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox. I had been told that some of my doctrinal stances matched the latter in particular, and owing to friendly challenge from a longtime Orthodox reader, I am taking a closer look at Orthodoxy and offering an evaluation. Tekton Ticker: June 2015

Friday, June 26, 2015. The Paul Fan Club, Part 2: Craig Winn, Part 2. From the April 2012 E-Block. Chapters 3-5 of Craig Winn's Questioning Paul. Much to begin this chapter deals with the "James vs Paul" matter, and Winn's tendentious and misinformed reading of that situation, so we shall skip over a great deal. We will also skip gratuitous and unsubstantiated charges of mistranslation, as we have still seen no indication that Winn possesses any relevant credentials as a scholar or translator. In the cas...

Tekton Ticker: May 2015
http://tektonticker.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 29, 2015. From the February 2012 E-Block. The main point here is that there is nothing in man that can contribute to his own salvation. If it were otherwise, men could take credit and boast. By the same token, under my rubric, what is there for a man to legitimately. Boast about if we make the choice for salvation? This is like saying that a drowning swimmer who is rescued by a powerful lifeguard could "boast" by saying, "Hey, look at me, gang, I called for help! No, it does not. Neither ...

Tekton Ticker: Journey Through Orthodoxy, Part 2
http://tektonticker.blogspot.com/2015/08/journey-through-orthodoxy-part-2.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Journey Through Orthodoxy, Part 2. From the April 2012 E-Block. For our next article in this series, I selected Orthodox Theology. By Vladimir Lossky. Unfortunately, it gave me little to work with. Why? Partly it is because Lossky has a type of writing style I find disconnected and rambling: Lossky is one of those types of writers who does not present his ideas systematically, but apparently, as they occur to him. This made it difficult to extract the meat from his presentation.

God’s Word to Women. One-Year Bible Reading Plan. Author and speaker Christine Caine, founder of the A21 campaign to end human trafficking. Undaunted: Daring to Do What God Calls You to Do. By Christine Caine [Grand Rapids, Mich.: Zondervan, 2012; Zondervan audiobook read by Tess Masters, 2012]. I first heard Christine Caine deliver a sermon. I was finally able to “read” it. Is a thoroughly enjoyable, at times painful, almost semi-autobiographical book that details how Caine founded the A21 Campaign.

Some number of years ago, I viewed a film called. 1998), it having been recommended on a list of films every feminist should view. The film was a loose biography of Veronica Franco, a 16.
