Sask NDP name shadow cabinet. No surprises here, I guess. My only observation is that the NDP practice of rewarding its members based on seniority continues. Links to this post. STACKHOUSE SOAPBOX: TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON HITTING FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT
http://mikestackhouse.blogspot.com/2013/05/too-much-emphasis-on-hitting-from-both.html
Saturday, May 25, 2013. TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON HITTING FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT. As I figured, the decision by Hockey Canada to ban body checking at the Peewee level as generated an incredible amount of opinion on both sides of the fence. As usual, I am not going to take either side in this debate but I do have a strong opinion on it. I do not favor the move to ban bodychecking; but I also don't think that makes me a neanderthal. I'm just glad Peyton Manning's coach doesn't discourage a 70 yard pass...

STACKHOUSE SOAPBOX: May 2013
http://mikestackhouse.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 30, 2013. YORKTON THIS WEEK (May 29). You know ownership wouldn’t hesitate to pressure coaches and players to try harder, but it’s time for ownership to put the appropriate people in place and give them the resources to be competitive year after year after year. The Blades did get hot at midseason after they made sweeping player changes, but why did they have to make so many moves? My only political comment this week comes from a friend of mine on Facebook, who applauds his NDP for wanting ...

http://mikestackhouse.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 23, 2012. STACKHOUSE SOAPBOX (Yorkton This Week May 23). I had been looking forward to the Nickelback concert in Saskatoon for over two months, so here’s my nutshell review:. I read a lot when I’m at the lake. Last summer, I started Ozzy Osbourne’s second book “Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy” and got about halfway through and didn’t pick it up again until Sunday. The juvenile in me comes out when I read this stuff. She has no idea. Are the NHL playoffs over yet? Friday, May 18, 2012. And, I don...

STACKHOUSE SOAPBOX: June 2015
http://mikestackhouse.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. WHERE ARE THE OILERS, BRUINS, AND SABRES GOING? I don't dislike the Edmonton Oilers, but it has been fun poking at them and their fans since the mid-1990s. No other NHL team (Toronto included) has over valued its prospects and, at the same time, been so inept at getting talent from the junior level into the NHL beyond the very obvious draft selections. Chiarelli was just fired by the Boston Bruins and seeing what the Bruins did on the weekend, the picture as to why is becoming re...

He received a 6-year sentence. I'm betting if he's still upright, he'll be back on the highway in 2018. Of course, maybe sooner than that if he gets let out of jail early.
