Shirakawago ! – tokyotravels

https://tokyotravels.wordpress.com/2012/04/23/1644

Moving in and around tokyo! This slideshow requires JavaScript. In India almost every city has a village attached nearby and these villages have a charm of their own. I have made many trips to my village with my family and have loved ‘my roots’ each time more and more. It was heartening to see a village in Japan too! We visited Shirakawago the first weekend of March this year and stayed overnight at one such Gasshou-zukuri, named Nodaniya. At a restroom on way to Shirakawago. As soon as we set our luggag...

https://japancultureblog.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/setsubun-keep-luck-in-and-bad-things-out

Taking a deeper look at Japanese Culture. Setsubun: Keep luck in and bad things out. A demon from the front of a restaurant in Akita Prefecture. January 3rd of each year is Setsubun or properly named. Ehomaki or Lucky Sushi Roll. At some shrines, temples and just communities there are special events. In one area of Japan, men dressed like demons go from house to house scaring little children into being good while the family throws beans at them. If you are not, make some sushi rolls and do it at home.

Reviews, photos, travel, general life. Hi Home Magic Shower Head Review. Posted in Random Life. After coming home one night, I turned on the TV and this was being shown at ABS-CBN. It’s the Hi Home Magic Showerhead. Low pressure has always been a problem in our bathroom, plus we also want to filter it. In the end, we no longer use the shower, prioritizing instead on covering it so that we can have a makeshift filter. This product seems like an answer to our problems. Pressure improved for our shower.

Reviews, photos, travel, general life. Avenue Suites Hotel Bacolod Review. Posted in Random Life. I went to Bacolod last weekend July 12-13 and we stayed at Avenue Suites Hotel. I booked through AGODA. First, the good part. Location was. Good There are lots of restaurants near it as well as convenience stores. Though check-in was at 2 pm, when we arrived at 1 pm they allowed us to go to our room already. Room service was also quick. We asked for extra towels and they were quick with our needs. Since we p...

Putting my two cents in – Two Wives Philippine Adaptation complaints | invii

Reviews, photos, travel, general life. Putting my two cents in – Two Wives Philippine Adaptation complaints. First and foremost, I have not watched Two Wives Korean Drama. And, though I’ve watched bits and pieces of Two Wives Philippines (cause its hard not to) I have not faithfully watched it every night. Still, I believe I know the basic gist of the story. Guy (Victor) is married. He meets another woman (single mom in this case). He falls in love. I’m not sure if this is the same in the Korean dr...

Reviews, photos, travel, general life. Why the Philippines is Not Progressing as a Country. Posted in Random Life. When my colleague still didn’t allow her to do as she wants, she threatened to go to the hospital administrator to complain and did just that. The hospital administrator then stormed our unit to reprimand all of us saying that we are “kitid-isip” or narrow-minded. We work here following. Policies that was created even before we even graduated as a nurse. We do not care that you are a doctor&...

Nikujaga: Feel Good Comfort Food « Japanese Culture Blog

https://japancultureblog.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/nikujaga-feel-good-comfort-food

Taking a deeper look at Japanese Culture. Nikujaga: Feel Good Comfort Food. Nikujaga: Meat and Potato Stew. Though it may not seem Japanese. Nikujaga, Meat and Potato Stew)is what many might consider motherʼs taste – a feel good comfort dish. Niku means meat and Jaga comes from Jagaimo, potato. Neither of these are historically typical Japanese ingredients. The mixture of soy sauce and sugar might surprise you, however I am sure it will be positive. 300 g (13 oz) beef or pork sliced. 1 medium onion sliced.
