Jellybean's Odds and Ends: Chantilly
http://jellybeansoddsandends.blogspot.com/2013/05/chantilly.html
Jellybean's Odds and Ends. A sewing blog - with a bit of knitting, baking, and my life thrown in. Wednesday, 1 May 2013. Here it is, finally finished! It's been so long since I fitted it, that I can't remember what size I cut. I do remember cutting a smaller size for the neck pieces, and grading the bodice out so that I didn't have to do an FBA. It worked well and I'm really pleased with the fit. I always feel awkward when Dom tells me to pose, so I pulled a silly pose instead! Onto the next project!

I've been wearing it pretty much every day since I finished it and I love it :) The pattern is a free one from Ravelry and can be found here. My Project page is here. If you want more details :). Ps Dom took and edited the photo. I love what he did with it! Links to this post.
Jellybean's Odds and Ends: Ebony's project bag
http://jellybeansoddsandends.blogspot.com/2013/04/ebonys-project-bag.html
Jellybean's Odds and Ends. A sewing blog - with a bit of knitting, baking, and my life thrown in. Wednesday, 3 April 2013. I can't believe it's taken me this long to post these photos! Ebony's birthday was over 2 months ago! I finished the bag just in time in the end. I thought I'd made good time, until I realised I'd sewn the handles on side-ways! I hadn't read the instructions properly, and just 'assumed' I knew what I was doing. HA! I read all instructions very carefully after that. I thought the bag ...

Jellybean's Odds and Ends. A sewing blog - with a bit of knitting, baking, and my life thrown in. Tuesday, 9 April 2013. This is the first lace weight shawl that I finished last summer. It was a lovely day when we took the photos, we went for a walk down the canal to the South common. The pattern is free download from Ravelry, here. The yarn is a one off, dyed by Jonathan from Chroma Yarns. Tuesday, April 09, 2013 12:52:00 pm. Tuesday, April 09, 2013 3:10:00 pm. It looks really soft and cozy, too. Ashley...

Jellybean's Odds and Ends. A sewing blog - with a bit of knitting, baking, and my life thrown in. Friday, 16 March 2012. Just thought I'd check in and let you know why it's been quiet around here. Nothing exciting, I've been writing my dreaded dissertation! Anyway, I finished a big section of my write up today so I decided to take the rest of the day off. I think my need it, my brain is starting to turn to mush! Also, a huge thank you to Sarah from Narcoleptic in a Cupboard. Thank you so much! I want a r...

Tricky Seams: Crafting for the creatively inept!: My excuse for not blogging.... Meet Derek!
http://trickyseams.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-excuse-for-not-blogging-meet-derek.html
Tuesday, 20 December 2011. My excuse for not blogging. Meet Derek! Derek is a Dr Who Dalek, just in case you don't recognise it, and he's been my most challenging knitting project to date! I didn't think I'd be able to do it because it involved a lot of techniques I've never done before such as I-cord and making bobbles but I managed it and he doesn't look too shabby! I knew it would be perfect! When I'm suitably recovered I might knit myself my own one, maybe a special pink dalek! Follow me by email.

Tricky Seams: Crafting for the creatively inept!: Floaty flutterby skirt
http://trickyseams.blogspot.com/2012/07/floaty-flutterby-skirt.html
Tuesday, 17 July 2012. It's been a while hasn't it? I've been incredibly busy at university, I know that's not really an excuse but I've had exams, two months of placement where I was in four different places each week and then swapped to four other places halfway through and couldn't think about anything other than working and keeping my head above water, but then I finally made it and finished the year! However I then had an operation on my foot which led to pain and then finally some sewing! Subscribe...
Tricky Seams: Crafting for the creatively inept!: Do you wear good shoes?
http://trickyseams.blogspot.com/2011/07/do-you-wear-good-shoes.html
Friday, 8 July 2011. Do you wear good shoes? It's Friday night and here I am pondering about shoes. I know this isn't really sewing related other than you need to be wearing shoes in order to show off your lovely handmade items to the outside world, but I'm going to blog about it anyway! Not sure why, I just do, I much prefer colourful) and they would have to fit into my student budget. I did a bit of googling first to see what types of shoes came recommended by nurses and found out about the Clarks.
Tricky Seams: Crafting for the creatively inept!: Little love heart blouse
http://trickyseams.blogspot.com/2012/11/little-love-heart-blouse.html
Tuesday, 13 November 2012. Little love heart blouse. This blouse should have been finished weeks ago, but I got angry at it when I was so close to finishing and ended up abandoning it and losing my sewing mojo. Today I finally picked it up again and sorted out the 'issues' and got it finished! Why did I choose this pattern? What fabric did I use? Was it easy to make? Anyway I ended up removing them and am happier with the way it looks in it's sleeveless style. Am I happy with the finished result? However...

Tricky Seams: Crafting for the creatively inept!: £2.40 Simplicity 1873 practice run that wasn't a practice run...
http://trickyseams.blogspot.com/2012/10/240-simplicity-1873-practice-run-that.html
Sunday, 21 October 2012. 163;240 Simplicity 1873 practice run that wasn't a practice run. So instead I ended up using the skirt pieces from Burda 7739 to make a gathered skirt. It was the bodice I really wanted to check anyway as I wanted to check the fit and practice the invisible zip. Anyway the modified version of this went together really quickly! McCall's could learn a thing or two from this pattern) and I had just happened to have read Karen's post. I no longer fear the invisible zip! So here's the...

Tricky Seams: Crafting for the creatively inept!: Creating some Christmas sparkle!
http://trickyseams.blogspot.com/2011/11/creating-some-christmas-sparkle.html
Wednesday, 30 November 2011. Creating some Christmas sparkle! I mentioned in my previous post that I had bought a plain lace dress to wear over the Christmas period but that I wanted to sparkle it up a bit, well it's definitely more sparkly now and a lot quicker than I thought! I managed to get an enormous pack of sequins in poundland, for (you guessed it) £1 which brings total cost of the dress to £15 which is pretty bargainous I think! Anyway, here are some pictures for you! Sewing sequins onto dress.

Thursday, September 21, 2017. The biggest lesson I've learned so far being 21 is to not be afraid. To be brave to embark on a journey I've always wanted to start but had never grew the guts to - the journey to find happiness. I could safely say that I have found it and I will never stop chasing it. From the early days of this depressing blog, I am that girl no more. At 21, I am not bitter anymore. And some style.” —.
