Wednesday, January 26, 2011. On Friday, January 21, we decided to visit the old headquaters of the National Bank of Brazil shown here. The public is allowed to go to the top of this building. There is an observation deck just below the round tower. One must take two elevators, a narrow stair case and a circular metal stair case to get to observation deck. Friday, November 29, 2013. Thanksgiving is not a holiday in Recife. But I invited all the senior American missionaries. To come and celebrate with us after work on. We have a table, chairs, and dishes for four. Claudia and Don Andrews. Our new American missionary couple). Brought their table, chairs and dishes. And we put them together. Claudia had brought the napkins from the States. Vernon went to the store on Monday and Tuesday. For last minute shopping for all the trimmings. After work on Wednesday.

Sunday, February 20, 2011. The first six photos were all taken just outside the south wall of one of the largest cemeteries in São Paulo. The back of these small shops (to your right) is the wall of the "Cemitério do Santíssimo Saramento/Araça" on Avenida Doutor Arnaldo. There are dozens of these vendors along this street. This is a very busy street and it is easy to see how much of the sidewalk has been taken up to accomodate these flower shops. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Singing in the mail room.

Tuesday, August 13, 2013. The summer break from school is over here in Brazil but the youth still come to the temple on Saturdays. We had fifty young woman in the 9:45 am session and 25 young men in the 11:00 am. Then the girls dryed off and come back again at 1:30 pm. The boys returned at 3:15 pm. Sealings take place throughout the day on Saturday. In Brazil you have to get married civilly first then you can be sealed in the temple. The fountain is a favorite spot for photos and for the kids.
