Da ich Melbourne gleich zu Anfang meines Australienaufenthaltes besucht habe, fuhr ich direkt nach Philip Island. Dazwischen besuchte ich noch ein Tierreservat in welchem es unter anderem tasmanische Teufel hatte und man Känguruhs und Wallabys von Hand füttern konnte. Ja ich gebe es zu, ich hatte vermutlich mehr Spass als die kleinen Knirpse rund um mich herum. Und es wieder goss wie aus Kübeln (hab ich mich schon bei Dir bedankt, Petrus? Willkommen im Reich der vulkanischen Aktivitäten! Es dampft, brodelt, blubbert und stinkt nach Schwefel. Schlammtümpel, kochende Seen, aktive Geysire, aus zig grossen und kleinen Löchern und Spalten zischt und dampft es und in einigen kann man sich auch suhlen. Einen Favoriten könnte ich jetzt nicht nennen, jeder dieser Parks hat seine Faszination und Elemente welche ihn einzigartig machen. Die Nächte waren sehr kalt, teilweise nahe der Null Grad Grenze. Und in einem Van merkt man das besonders gut. Hiermit noch herzlichen Dank an meinen kleinen Heizofen, der immer alles gab. In Port Macquari besuchte ich das Koala Hospital in welchem Koalas gesund gepflegt wurden welche Opfer von beispielsweise Buschbränden oder Autounfällen wurden. Queen Charlotte Sounds, Kaikoura und Lake Tekapo. Als die Fähre das offene Wasser verlassen und durch die Queen Charlotte Sounds fuhr ging es mir zumindest wieder so gut dass ich raus an Deck gehen konnte und die Panoramen geniessen. In Picton war dann Endstation. Immer noch ziemlich geschlaucht von der Überfahrt ging es direkt in den Caravan Park wo für einmal ziemlich früh Nachtruhe für mich war.
