Suburban Badger: Arsenal's season proving to be just child's play.
http://suburbanbadger.blogspot.com/2009/01/arsenals-season-proving-to-be-just.html
Friday, 16 January 2009. Arsenal's season proving to be just child's play. You don't win anything with kids'. Alan Hansen's quip after Manchester United's opening day defeat at Villa Park in 1995 would prove to be the biggest prediction gaffe since Michael Fish and the hurricane as an Eric Cantona-inspired United would go on to record their second double. . However 13 seasons on, Hansen's mantra is currently doing the rounds when people discuss their once arch-rivals, Arsenal. In the aftermath of the Ane...

My ramblings on the sporting world. Saturday, 4 April 2009. Bowden must take his share of the credit for Oxford's success. Published 30/03/09 on morethanthegames.co.uk. Sports news and blogs from the UK press. BEHIND every great team lies an even greater coach, and the Boat Race is no exception. Athletes come and go but, for Oxford, one man has remained consistent in their recent dominance of this proud English event - Sean Bowden. Coxswain Rebecca Dowbiggin, competing in her third and final Race for the...

George Scott: Sad to see Sport magazine close
http://georgescottsport.blogspot.com/2009/04/sad-to-see-sport-magazine-close.html
My ramblings on the sporting world. Friday, 17 April 2009. Sad to see Sport magazine close. I was sad to read yesterday that Sport, the free magazine distributed throughout London on Friday mornings, has suspended publication. Following the collapse of its French parent company. The magazine was always a great read (they done a fantastic job to put out a great product, week after week, for free) and I often took a small detour on a Friday morning to pick it up. 26 April 2009 at 09:15.

George Scott: There's more to Usain Bolt than just a champion
http://georgescottsport.blogspot.com/2009/05/theres-more-to-usain-bolt-than-just.html
My ramblings on the sporting world. Thursday, 21 May 2009. There's more to Usain Bolt than just a champion. Usain Bolt and Dwain Chambers were competing more than 4,000 miles apart last weekend and the contrast between the two sprinters could not have been greater. While triple Olympic gold medallist Bolt was wowing the Manchester crowds on his way to a worlds-best performance over 150m. Chambers was forced to look to Puerto Rico for competition having been banned by more than 50 European promoters.

Suburban Badger: July 2008
http://suburbanbadger.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 16 July 2008. What a load of Bostock's. I like Simon Jordan. The Crystal Palace chairman is outspoken, he's brash and he cares about football. Do I always agree with him? No, but whenever he feels the urge to speak out in footballing circles, be it about his beloved Palace or about the current state of football, you know it's going to be interesting. And he has a point. Then earlier this month Cardiff accepted a £5million bid from Arsenal of their young starlet Aaron Ramsey, who despite p...

A HEAVY shower before the start of the inaugural Super 8 in Cardiff last night threatened to rain on UK Athletics' parade before its pilot event had even begun. But, with perfect timing, the sky cleared in time for the new face of domestic athletics to show its worth. UKA resisted the full-scale razzamatazz t...
