From Chaos Comes Happiness: April 2015

Friday, April 17, 2015. Random Thoughts on a Friday Evening. Sometimes doesn't), but he is physically there receiving them. Right now, not so much. So I am sitting in my living room this very minute, windows open with a gentle breeze coming in and out, the sounds of cars driving by, birds singing, neighbors talking, and my own two girls playing Barbie's all taking place in the background. And me . . . the mind is just going. Thoughts like . . . Is it because I worked and taught art this week? Of the stor...

From Chaos Comes Happiness: October 2014

Thursday, October 30, 2014. My Carpet of Gold. I love the sound of leaves crunching under my feet. I love to feel them up against my legs as I walk through a pile of them. I prefer to have socks on to avoid as much itchiness as possible . . . but some days, unplanned walks in the woods are the very best thing for the soul. Sometimes I get my best deep breaths of air - in those woods. It's kind of like my heaven on earth. It's quiet there. No phones ringing, no commotion, no one asking me where I am g...

From Chaos Comes Happiness: May 2014
http://www.fromchaoscomeshappiness.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 30, 2014. I've been stuck in an artless state for a few months now. Feeling unmotivated. Uncertain. Questioning what direction to go next, without so much as an ounce of creative passion in me. There is a huge amount of pressure and expectation that I put on the artist in me. Creating art is sort of a must, if you want to make money in your art. And I wasn't creating a thing, nor did I have a desire to do so. I meditated. I walked. I looked at the birds. I listened to music. And it made me gi...

From Chaos Comes Happiness: Sunday Night
http://www.fromchaoscomeshappiness.com/2015/07/sunday-night.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Taking a few minutes tonight outside . . . a few quiet minutes before the work begins. Trying to find some peace in the chaos that has been life this summer. Between the children, the job, and the husbands travel schedule, I haven't spent a lot of time out here. And tonight is perfect. The perfect temperature. The perfect sunset. The perfect bird sounds. Perfect. Tonight, I am trying to find me again. Tomorrow is another day. Maybe I can find myself then. July 27, 2015 at 10:33 AM.

Wednesday, August 20, 2014. As fast as the summer came, it has left us with the beginning of another school year. Day 1. Here we are! And I don't think I've ever met the beginning of the school year with such enthusiasm as I have today. Are ready . . . for their next chapter. Am ready . . . for my next chapter, too. Whatever that may be. I'm still in my art zone . . . and I'm welcoming the next few weeks of creating. The fall and winter craft fairs will be here before you know it, and I a...I'm feeling a...
