This World We Live In. Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Pav's very first day of preschool last March. Graduation" at the end of last year. The first day of preschool last fall. The last day. Last Friday. Monday, June 7, 2010. Can you read that name up at the top? One pink, princess doll and a ticket to Grammy's house, please. No, a fairy wand and a ticket to Disney Land. Or, a burping toad and a ticket to the beach? What is the mysterious black hair in the lower left corner of the picture, you ask? After seeing a ...

This World We Live In...: August 2010
http://stewardtharps.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
This World We Live In. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Forgive the long pause in blogging for this time I actually have an excuse. Not only was I busy moving, but I didn't have internet either. Thanks to the neighbors unusually strong wireless signal tonight I find myself blessed with my biggest vice. I keep putting on my sense-of-adventure hat but the darn thing keeps falling off! This World We Live In...: May 2010
http://stewardtharps.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
This World We Live In. Saturday, May 8, 2010. All Grown Up (Kind Of). I didn't specify that the clothes had to be on face front, so really it is my lack of clarity in instructioning that is at fault here. Those of you with smart (aleck) kids know what I'm talking about! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). All Grown Up (Kind Of). View my complete profile. Then can we borrow someone else's daughter for a long, long time so I can have a sister? She's younger than you, Pav." "Why? But bad witches, they bite.". Grand...

This World We Live In...: April 2010
http://stewardtharps.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
This World We Live In. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Itchy Noses, Two Ways. Two of the highlights of Gammy's visit were the Azalea's at the National Arboretum and Stone Ridge girls' school's annual used book sale, both of which left Pav and I more than a little sniffly. Darn allergies! Just makes you look smarter.). Here was a whole bush full of blossoms that were just starting to unfurl. Only the very tips of the petals were still twisted shut. Every one was ready to pop! How they open, like little upside ...

The Gatten Gang: September 2008
http://nateandannette.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2008. 160;Luckily, the state-side version is watered down. Mine lasted a little more than a week. It might have lasted longer, but I was paranoid of it breaking up in the night and staining my sheets, so I scraped it off with a butter knife before I went to bed. It hurt! Sudha and her d-i-l Neha. Sudha's palms are hennaed v. the backs of my hands. The black is the dye; when it comes off, the markings are brown. Sunday, September 28, 2008. So we went to see what we could see- Aki...

The Gatten Gang: Bollywood, part II
http://nateandannette.blogspot.com/2008/10/bollywood-part-ii.html
Friday, October 3, 2008. Bollywood, part II. And got way into it. We were a little nervous when we pulled up to the reception (we felt a teensy bit out of place in Georgetown on a Sat night), but then we just went for it. And it was great! Sudha was excited to see us, and we fit right in. The other members of our ward that were there were surprised at our bold fashion choices and more than a little jealous! The Bride and Groom. In her delightful accent. . 160;And could they dance! We were having a gr...

The Gatten Gang: July 2008
http://nateandannette.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 24, 2008. Twister's Comin" and Hen-zilla. We went to Homestead Farm on Tuesday, and when we got there, it was surprisingly cool and breezy. But breezy became windy as a (thankfully brief) storm blew in. We were in the peach orchard when the first drops came down, and if I didn't know better, I'd think Jay had been watching a lot of doomsday tv. He ran between the trees screaming "WE HAVE TO FIND SHELTER! Everything's coming up roses now. Meg is such a cutie! 160;We like her mom too.

This World We Live In...: Bikes from Oxford to Abingdon
http://stewardtharps.blogspot.com/2010/11/bikes-from-oxford-to-abingdon.html
This World We Live In. Saturday, November 20, 2010. Bikes from Oxford to Abingdon. D a fireplace in the other. The bar is in the middle and wooden tables and couches line the walls. The rug is red and patterned. It is cold inside, unless you are by the fire, which we were lucky enough to be. The scones are huge and delicious. Buttery and full of currents and served with the fruitiest jam and thick cream. November 22, 2010 at 3:37 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bikes from Oxford to Abingdon.
