A year in Peru. Saturday, May 24, 2008. Detour: Huanchaco, Trujillo. Heading back to Lima proved to be impossible on Monday evening May 19, 2008. A strike in Chimbote had blocked the PanAmerican Highway, not allowing traffic to flow to or from Lima. So, we took an overnight bus to Trujillo, a few hours north of Chimbote, and waited out the roadblock on the beach of Huanchaco. Luke took a surfing lesson and I was his photographer. Take a look:. Can you see him? Posted by Chris Edgar. Links to this post.
