http://souls-of-my-shoes.blogspot.com/2010/04/catching-up.html
The Souls of my Shoes. Living a charmed and sometimes chaotic life. Thursday, April 8, 2010. Always something interesting to see; I spotted these two giants in the parking lot next to work. They weren't too fazed by people, but seemed content to munch on the trees in the area, they actually eat bark in the winter, weird huh! And yes, that is how it currently looks outside. This years plants, that I've started indoors, include yellow and salmon begonias, and pink peonies. As we will be quite busy this...

My fuschia starts are enjoying the sun with some peonies (I use cut up milk jugs to temporarily grow them in until there ready to go outdoors), and my crazy begonias. The Souls of my Shoes. Living a charmed and sometimes chaotic life. Friday, January 2, 2009. I am surprised that I have never made butter before, it is sooooo. I have seen several blog posts regarding making your own butter and when I had a half gallon of heavy cream about to expire, I figured that turning it into butter and buttermilk would be the best way to use it up. Mixer and Heavy Cream ready to go. Not much change at 2:30. Starts to thicken at 2:35. Creeping up the bowl at 2:40. Thanks for the vis...

The Souls of my Shoes: Cheesy Polenta with Tomato Chile Sauce

The Souls of my Shoes. Living a charmed and sometimes chaotic life. Monday, February 1, 2010. Cheesy Polenta with Tomato Chile Sauce. My favorite recipe in the book was a dish that included beef tenderloin set atop cheesy polenta, and garnished with chile sauce. I modified the recipe a bit to use some leftover pulled pork and tamed the heat of the sauce by omitting the cayenne powder. 4 C Chicken broth or stock. 6 oz Yellow Cornmeal. Remove from heat, stir in cheese and salt. 2 Tbsp. Oil. Heat oil in a s...
