The Stylish Stitcher: A project bag and more socks
http://thestylishstitcher.blogspot.com/2017/01/a-project-bag-and-more-socks.html
Monday, 2 January 2017. A project bag and more socks. Today I have two things to share with you. The first is a little project bag made using Simplicity 2830 from the It's So Easy range. I bought this pattern as I have never made any bags before and thought as it was labelled "It's So Easy" it would be a good make for a beginner bag maker. While I am fairly pleased with the finished make, I think the pattern was quite tricky to follow and it was not that easy really! The bag is unlined and is seriously f...

The Stylish Stitcher: May 2015
http://thestylishstitcher.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 May 2015. My summer stitching plans. So I have a few things lined up to sew for summer. My aim is to use some of my existing stash of materials and patterns that I have accumulated. First up is New Look 6262, which I made previously here. This time I am making view D, with the boat neck and without sleeves. My muslin of the bodice is complete and I have now cut out my pieces, just need to get sewing! I'm using this gorgeous cotton that I got from a local market. Perfect for summer! Hopefully...

Carefully made by Mrs Robinson: July 2015
http://carefullymadebymrsrobinson.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Carefully made by Mrs Robinson. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. One thing I did manage before the end of term was some end of term makes. this year it was more of the foldover clutches for all. Firstly more inspired by skirt as top's foldover doily clutch tutorial. With you and mie's. Which reminds me, I have a much used version of the one above which I made for me as an absolute necessity with a new bag. No photograph of that one yet, so I shall have to dedicate another post to yet another foldover clutch&...

Dressed in pretty little things. Taking over my wardrobe one sewing pattern at a time. Alice in Wonderland dress. Alice in Wonderland dress. April 21, 2015. April 23, 2015. But with darts instead of princess seams. This has fast become one of my favourite dress patterns. Deer and Doe Datura. April 23, 2015 at 12:53 pm. Love ...

Carefully made by Mrs Robinson: June 2015
http://carefullymadebymrsrobinson.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Carefully made by Mrs Robinson. Monday, 29 June 2015. The first foldover clutch of many. Any slightly treasured scrap of fabric is no longer safe if there is enough to be made into a foldover clutch bag. And I get to see the fabric rather than it be precariously balanced in one of the teetering piles! I first saw a how-to for a delightful doily foldover clutch. On skirt as top. Blog Perfect present making! If anyone knows of other places to buy leatherette please let me know! Monday, 8 June 2015. Trail t...

Carefully made by Mrs Robinson: September 2014
http://carefullymadebymrsrobinson.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Carefully made by Mrs Robinson. Monday, 29 September 2014. Two more dreamy ponchos with not a hint of seventies fashion. I still want to call these shawls. Ponchos bring to mind a rather different woollen garment than these two delights. These are pretty ponchos from Nicki Trench's crochet living. I like them so much I have now made three. Sadly only one has stayed with me. This is my well worn version, made last summer. And then this summer I busied myself with. Why didn't I notice this? I may have ment...

Lapped zipper tutorial
http://scruffybadgertime.co.uk/2012/08/my-mammas-lapped-zipper-tutorial
Scruffy Badger's Scruffy Badger Time Blog: Sewing, Knitting, Running and Silliness. SB’s handmade wardrobe. Lapped Zipper Tutorial: like my Mamma taught me. Howdy doody. As mentioned in my Simplicity 2154. Post I wondered whether I should share the way that I was taught to sew in a zip. Apparently it is a lapped zipper and for some it is a sewing milestone, perhaps due to it being more of a vintage method? No prizes for spotting the special guest appearance by world class sewing machine fluff). Now, head...
