A few snippets of my knitting adventures…. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. FO: Baby Pirate Hat. May 2, 2016. My cousin is expecting her first baby in June, and though I don’t think she’s super familiar with handknit gifts, I couldn’t resist the urge to make her. And then, I was flipping through 60 Quick Knits for Babies and saw the Pirate Hat. I knew right away that it was perfect. For one, it had skulls on it (she has a chair with skulls on it in her house! So I cast on! And my hat is.

A few snippets of my knitting adventures…. Skip to primary content. Ten on Tuesday: 10 ways to make winter less bleak. January 13, 2015. Easy one first, right? Sit snuggled up on the couch by my fireplace. I do loooove my gas fireplace that I can turn on with a switch. Right next to it is my favorite place to do #1 (knit)! Drink a lot of hot beverages. Preferably while knitting by the fireplace. My favorite is coffee, followed by tea and hot chocolate. Wear these new flashy slippers. Makes me forget it’s...

A few snippets of my knitting adventures…. Skip to primary content. Catching up/time to knit! May 10, 2015. Wow I have missed blogging! I can’t believe how long I’ve been away. I have a really good excuse though. We moved house! At the beginning of the year, Mr Snips and I started talking about whether we would do some work to our current house or if we would buy a new one. Since we were both going back and forth on it, I started checking in with him every day. “What do you think today? She got us a view...

A few snippets of my knitting adventures…. Skip to primary content. January 28, 2014. On Thursday, I finished my obsession – the Snowfling Mitts. To be honest, I’m still not sure I’m over them. In fact, I know I’m not. That’s why I bought yarn on Friday to cast on another pair of stranded mittens, the O.W.L. Mittens. Because I’ve decided I’m up for two-handed knitting (but maybe not the fancy woven stuff from the video I posted last time. And I’ve already cast on. I styled them with my Encompass Scarf.

Monday, February 18, 2013. Sitting in the Corner. Last week was productive. I applied for a number of jobs, had one interview and set up another for this week. I also received a few rejection letters. That was a bit of a bummer. I suppose it goes with the territory. I just pulled out the knitting and instantly felt better. Wool, it is a cure all. We also had a delicious dinner and an evening full of laughter with great friends. Laughter is also a cure all. I watched this bird flying for quite awhile the ...

Friday, November 30, 2012. A walk in the woods. This past Sunday, my fabulously furious friend Katie. Came down for a bit of mushroom hunting. She is, without a doubt, in the top ten "wickedly smart women" I have the pleasure of knowing. It was such a treat to have a chance to hang out in my backyard with Katie and her extensive knowledge of the local flora. Is my favorite. Commonly known as the jelly tongue mushroom. Isn't it fabulous? Saturday, November 24, 2012. My Week in Photos : Random. On Turkey D...

Saturday, September 22, 2012. Today marks the fall equinox. Also know as Mabon to us Pagans. The Pagan Thanksgiving, a celebration the second harvest and the return of balance. Equal night. Tuesday, February 12, 2013. So, last week was was uneventful in these parts. I finished up my resume; started a rough draft of my cover letter (it is still a work in progress); lined up my professional and personal references; and started to apply for jobs. My goal is to apply for at least two jobs a day. I am hoping to start hearing back from some of them soon. Stephen was busy chopping wood, painting the bathroom and perfecting our chicken pot pie recipe. This last pie was the best one yet. New England...

Crafters United in the Cause of Peace. July 20, 2010 in Knits Not Nukes. Yesterday I finally got around to sending off the first shipment of bombs, which went wholesale to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee:.
