My obsession with yarn, with a bit of life thrown in. 9 January, 2012. Life kind of got busy between my first post and now, hence the silence :). I won’t promise to post every day – my life just isn’t that exciting – but I will try for weekly. My 2012 blogging goal. I had a few finishes before 2011’s curtain call …. Knit with Skein Queen. Desire “Raindrops” on 4.5mm needles. Cast on April 15, 2011 and knit on and off until cast off on November 4, 2011. My first top-down seamless cardigan – love! One resp...

My obsession with yarn, with a bit of life thrown in. Monthly Archives: January 2012. I hope I can keep up the momentum! 9 January, 2012. 2011 saw the explosion of my yarn stash – I’m sure random skeins are breeding like rabbits in the dark recesses of the storage chest! I can never seem to close the lid completely whenever I go delving. To this end, 2012 has started off well. I have two finishes so far. Knit with Flamboyance Yarns. Blaze “Eerie” on 3.5mm needles. I think I want another one in grey.

My obsession with yarn, with a bit of life thrown in. I’m an Australian expat living in Dubai. I’m married with two teenagers and one dog. I knit, I read, I play computer games on occasion. I’m accumulating pretty-coloured yarn at a speed faster than light. It’s an obsession – deal with it – my family has to :P. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Lined Drawstring Bag Tutorial. Sunday, October 16, 2011. Lined Drawstring Bag Tutorial. A photo by jenib320. I love making bags! In my opinion, you can never have too many. Especially little bags, they are just so handy! I whipped up one of these bags right before Sewing Summit to carry my DSLR camera and thought you all might enjoy a little tutorial to make your own! They don't use much fabric, so even if your stash is small, you can make these bags! I use them for everything, they can hold a lot! From ...

I do what the stitches tell me. Sunday, February 23, 2014. This is as far as I got when the games ended. The body is almost complete, though I think I'd like to add another inch. The longer sleeve is probably too tight, so I cast on the second one with more stitches and stated increasing sooner. My son got sick on Friday and was puking all day long, so that's what ultimately did me in. That and I didn't have a great start, not progressing add quickly as I could have. Monday, February 17, 2014. Meg is so ...

Mrs Beeton with a Modern Twist. Thoughts on Pregnancy: 24.5 weeks. March 3, 2015. I’ve been pregnant now for almost 25 weeks, which means I have about 3.5 more months to go (if everything goes as planned). The second trimester has been much better. While I wouldn’t say I have a TON of energy, I can at least knit again and leave the house periodically on weekends if I’d like. After the anatomy scan (It’s a girl! What have I been knitting? Knits with hockey sticks
Knits with hockey sticks. Wednesday, February 4, 2009. I was inspired by some Canadiens mittens. I saw on Ravelry, so here's my own version of them, with a Penguins twist. I'm sure you can use your own mitten pattern if you. Want this is just a really basic one I have adapted and tend to use all the time. Any worsted weight. I used cheap acrylic from a craft store. Wool would be a LOT nicer though. Four No. 4 DPN's. Approx. 5 stitches per inch (but I didn't really do a swatch to be sure.). Needle 3 - k a...
