아름답다, ah-lum-dahp-dah: NEW BLOG
http://madelineleerogers.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-blog.html
Wednesday, January 18, 2012. So, it's been ages since I've updated this thing, mostly because I worked like crazy through October and November. Then, I had vacation home in America for a month, and didn't exactly have time then to blog either. And now.it's January, and I don't really have an excuse anymore. SO. I've decided to switch over to Tumblr, because it is more fun/easier to post on/supports video and photo better than Blogger. The link to my new blog: http:/ maddieleerogers.tumblr.com/.

아름답다, ah-lum-dahp-dah: Things I Talked About With My North Korean Student/Soulmate
http://madelineleerogers.blogspot.com/2011/10/things-i-talked-about-with-my-north.html
Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Things I Talked About With My North Korean Student/Soulmate. David Beckham and his hot bod. The Korean movie "Poetry" (시). Colors- I mean, a serious. Discussion about colors. She busted out a color palette- she's a fashion design student- and we talked about pastels. Jason Mraz and how infuriatingly popular "I'm Yours" is in Korea. Language- she speaks Chinese, since she lived in China for 10 years. Big Bang and G-Dragon's kick ass style. There were really old, scanned pictures...

ELIJAH WAS A MAN WITH A NATURE LIKE OURS. Sunday, May 27, 2012. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that we can record music? Meaning, on balance, are we better or worse off because we have this capability? It is hard for me to answer that question because I do not know much about what it was like before recording, and it is impossible to picture a world in which all else is the same but for the absence of this one technology. Nevertheless, I think the question is worth asking. America has consistently cho...

things too wonderful: Epic Commuting
http://ohbadiah.blogspot.com/2013/05/epic-commuting.html
ELIJAH WAS A MAN WITH A NATURE LIKE OURS. Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Since starting a new job my morning commute consists of a four-mile bike ride uphill to Overbrook Train Station, where the R5 carries me onward to work at Radnor. That is unless it rains, in which case I take West Chester Pike to the Blue Route. On the car route, just into Upper Darby one meets the Three Sisters. At a similar point in the bike commute one meets Girard: Graveyard of the Proud. The foolhardy biker might meet the gradual incli...

ELIJAH WAS A MAN WITH A NATURE LIKE OURS. Saturday, June 22, 2013. A Game Writ Large. We are going to build a world together. To adulterate Shakespeare, all the world's a stage, and we men and women might aspire to be players. Games are generally thought of as a waste of time, but I have been reflecting lately on how useful they have been in preapring me for real life. I am thinking especially of strategy games, of games like the card game Magic: The Gathering and the German table game Agricola. To play ...

ELIJAH WAS A MAN WITH A NATURE LIKE OURS. Saturday, August 31, 2013. My job is worthwhile. When people ask me what my company Relay Network does, I tell them we're trying to make it easier for businesses and customers to communicate over smartphones. I then give a few examples of the products we offer, and they get it, but I suspect this is a case where a concrete example could bring them to the " grok point. Back I was really wishing that Lenovo already made use of it. These kinds of interactions betwee...

ELIJAH WAS A MAN WITH A NATURE LIKE OURS. Saturday, August 25, 2012. Snapshot of the Good Life. Part 1 of an n-part series, where n = 1. You go to the farmer's market in Clark Park for eggs, those Mennonite eggs that are better than the eggs that cost twice as much. You got a late start and so they don't have any, but they say if you come back at 1:30 there should be a few more cartons. The sandwich hits the spot but now you've got a problem. Your hands are a mess, you didn't take a napkin, and this ...

ELIJAH WAS A MAN WITH A NATURE LIKE OURS. Monday, July 23, 2012. The small portions may be a little silly, but they mean that everyone can partake in the meal at the same time (followed immediately by the clink of a hundred plastic cups being set down). Then the pastor prays, we sing a song, we're blessed, and that's it. We on the team clean up the supplies and put them away for the next week. As we cleaned up after the service we munched on extra bread in the back room. An older gentleman on the tea...
