kyle's in cairo: Working out in Asia

http://www.kyleincairo.blogspot.com/2008/03/working-out-in-asia.html

Sunday, March 16, 2008. Working out in Asia. I'm sorry for the amount of time it has been since I last wrote. Our last few weeks in Ciro were incredibly busy. My computer decided to crash about a week or so before we left and I had to rewrite all of the papers I had finished. It was frustrating but it's over now. After finishing all of our papers we headed to the airport for a. After explaining, they still took us to a bar but we just didn't drink any alcohol! Well we're going to the U.S. Consula...I'm j...

kyle's in cairo: When it rains, it pours.

http://www.kyleincairo.blogspot.com/2008/01/when-it-rains-it-pours.html

Sunday, January 27, 2008. When it rains, it pours. We went to the pryamids on Friday. We're only about 20 or so minutes away but Friday was our first free chance to see them. They keep us incredibly busy so it was nice to just mull around! He dropped us off in the huge puddle which was annoying but there was no way we'd pay 20 pounds. We were able to get into a cab not long after that and paid 10 which is still a little too high but not that bad. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). When it rains, it pours.

kyle's in cairo: February 2008

http://www.kyleincairo.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Siwa, Homestays and Africa Cup. I apologize for my absence from the blogging world. These past few weeks have been quite busy. Two weeks ago we loaded onto a big bus for a 10 hr drive to Siwa, an Oasis town that has been virtualy untouched by tourists. The ride was long but it was well worth it! Egypt just won the Africa Cup for soccer and it was amazing to be here while that happened! They have several different restaurants in each boat (Chilli's, TGI Fridays, etc) and about ...

I am now home from my second Wicked Faire (first one I was officially performing at). The weekend of most EPICNESS . It kicked my ass and I kicked it's ass right back! Journeys of a Cellist: November 2012

http://journeysofacellist.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Journeys of a Cellist. The Journeys and observations of a very non-traditional cellist. Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Was watching this beautiful video earlier and practicing this piece (which I taught myself from the video a while ago):. Anyway, between that and playing Prayer all the time, I was thinking that my upper register on the A string really sucks . so I thought I'd do some practicing, which meant a combination of scales and arpeggios (which I found infinitely more challenging and useful) .

Journeys of a Cellist. The Journeys and observations of a very non-traditional cellist. Monday, May 5, 2014. It's been a while, but I've gotten back in the swing of things with writing and performing and all that sort of stuff . Been working on some electronic music here: https:/ cellomike.bandcamp.com/album/electronic-explorations-luna. And I'm gonna be performing at Steampunk World's Fair. So I'm thinking I might record another lightning speed album leading up to that. Links to this post. I Broke My Bow.

Journeys of a Cellist. The Journeys and observations of a very non-traditional cellist. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. The last 6 months and the future of my music. The last 6 months or so have been pretty Weird! There's been a lot of just trying to hold on for the sake of holding on. I moved to Philly in the fall and things ended up not really working out there, and I quit the bands and projects I was in, with the intent of putting music on the backburner for a bit while I got my life together. Journeys of a Cellist. The Journeys and observations of a very non-traditional cellist. Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Practicing and Scale Methods. Was practicing some scale method stuff earlier (Galamian and Yompolsky) and a few things came up:. 1  Not slurring scale practice - many exercises introduce scales and patterns slurring as many notes as possible.  This is initially a good thing, and great for developing long/legato bow control and beautiful tone. 3  Don't look down! Stories and photos of my journey across South America. Tuesday, May 13, 2008. I am planning to keep writing here as I transition from South America adventures to NYC. I had an amazing time in South America, and if my life weren't filled with so much excitement I might be lamenting the fact that I'm gone. However, I can say this is currently one of the best periods of my life and looking back on South America I have only fond memories and no regrets. at least it's a dry heat

At least it's a dry heat. Join kyle and his dad as they wander the lonely, forgotten back roads of the desert southwest, exploring dusty old ghost towns like Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Las Vegas. Friday, September 30, 2005. Entry 6: Vegas, Baby. Somehow, we made it to Las Vegas. Unfortunately, given its enormous size - as far across as the Empire State Building is tall - the dam doesn't really lend itself to good up-close photography (. For crying out loud. The money shot. Wednesday, June 23, 2010. The days are passing by quickly here in Maun, and though I feel it would take years to fully recount the experiences I have had here, I am no less shocked at how fast a month has passed by since I left Canada.
