I also think the book Where Men Win Glory is a definite must read for every American. Pat Tilman was a hero. A book that I made fun of my friend for reading, True Colors by Kristin Hannah, ended up on the list!

What's Left: Brain Tumor Updates. Saturday, October 19, 2013. I met with Dr. Weyburn yesterday to review the results of my Tuesday MRI. The reoccurring tumor has again grown in size and an additional mass, apparently a new glioma, has developed near the corpus callosum. (Google it.). Neither of these tumors is directly adjacent to the cavity from the surgery two years ago. He suggested I consider starting back on chemotherapy. He mentioned Temodar, but commented that other chemo options exist.

What's Left: Brain Tumor Updates. Sunday, January 20, 2013. MRI news still good! I had an MRI this month and then met with my oncologist. The scan showed a very small area of new white matter. He and the radiologist both think it is radiation scarring. Dr Weyburn asked me to test again in 3 months. He is not concerned, so neither am I. Sorry I couldn’t post a photo this time. Blogspot has changed their format and I didn’t have time to conquer the new photo entry system. Thanks for your continued support.

What's Left: Brain Tumor Updates. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. I’ve made an appt for August 1. To see Dr. Byrne at Rush, the neurosurgeon who did the awake craniotomy last September. He knows my tumor well enough to recognize whether anything in the most recent scan concerns him. Is the remaining mass tumor or radiation scarring? My neuro-oncologist, Dr. Paleologos, has recently left Northshore University Healthsystem. I am hoping Dr. Byrne may have some alternate suggestions. Sunday, July 1, 2012. I want to ...

What's Left: Brain Tumor Updates. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Only three radiation treatments left! Three is a small number, right? I was afraid to tell the radiation therapists today that the bruises from last week were killing me, because I want that number of remaining treatments to get smaller every day. I swear, three sounded smaller this morning. I met with Dr. Bugno today also and went through some of my questions. Unfortunately, he also said my hair might take 6-12 months to start coming back.

What's Left: Brain Tumor Updates. Wednesday, June 26, 2013. I’m not scheduled for my next MRI until July 15, but friends in the brain tumor support group have encouraged me to update my blog. The mid April MRI revealed that the tumor has recurred. It is a small growth somewhat behind the area cleared by surgery and radiation in late 2011. It is not affecting the quality of my life and I am not taking any additional treatment. I’m optimistic and you should be also. We walked together in the 5K Bridgewalk.
