Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Mary took great care to make sure her toes were painted. She doesn't usually go for the gaudy or flashy nail colors - I am sure it was a subdued tone. She tries to look nice and take care of herself. Tuesday, August 12, 2008. A friend asked why ceramic eggs are deployed in nesting boxes. to answer this one first has to realize the fact that hens peck at everything - especially new things. We want to make sure their first peck on an "egg" is not fruitful. If hens find the contents as tasty as we do, we will have a problem on our hands. A small taste of God's blessing. Saturday, August 9, 2008. We thought we would modify this recipe using blueberries instead of cranberries. The cranberry pudding recipe came to us from our good friend Gary who raved about it when we started framing the barn during Christmas 2006. This is one of life's simple pleasures. We were not disappointed and you certainly won't be either. Heat the oven to 400F. 3 teaspoons baking powder. 2 Cups uncooked cranberries. All ingredients and serve hot.

What I meant to say is Mary is having showers almost every week in preparation for the new addition to the family - baby Levi. We almost had to deliver Friday, but THANK THE LORD, we didn't have to! A small taste of God's blessing. Thursday, September 6, 2007. From Russia with love. Mom and dad traveled to Russia from August 15 to September 6, 2007. Their trip included a tour of Moskow and then a boat ride up to St Petersburg. They wish they had heavier jackets as they traveled to St. Petersburg. The pogost of Kizhi is located on one of the many islands in Lake Onega, in Karelia. Two wooden 18th-century churches, and an octagonal clock tower built in 1862 can be seen there. Sunday, July 13, 2008. Spider Mites Love Marigolds. I have seen Marigolds perish before in the hot and dry mid and late summer but never was able to figure out the "why." The first sign of coming death is when leaves take on a bleached tinge. The foliage is green but has white extremeties. This image shows a more advanced spider mite infestation with bleached foliage and a shroud of webs encasing the plant -especially lower foliage. Here's the recipe for insecticidal soap:. Thursday, July 17, 2008. Most folks never realize the first eggs laid by pullets are small. It stands to reason, but it is an obscure fact - great to share at parties if they are really dull. Matilda #78 is probably responsible for the smaller egg on the right. The larger "egg" on the left is ceramic.
