Professional Cynic: Birthdays & Beginnings

http://librarianamy.blogspot.com/2014/10/birthdays-beginnings.html

But my heart's not in it. Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Regardless of my crazy, I passed the lunch test. And got invited out for drinks. Terrified. So incredibly nervous. Our first trip to the pub, the pub that became our Winchester. Matt and I, the editor girls, and one of their husbands. So happy birthday Amy. I'm lucky to have you, and to know that at this point if there were any bodies to be dumped, she'd be around to help me dig the hole. Happy day lady. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://librarianamy.blogspot.com/2014/10/these-are-words-that-go-together-well.html

But my heart's not in it. Thursday, October 2, 2014. These Are Words That Go Together Well. One of the main reasons I started thinking about blogging again, only really more of just pointless writing, storytelling, was that a song was haunting me. And that song brought with it a lot of memories. Was my personal favorite). I even wrote a paper for English on the whole Paul is Dead. Conspiracy. We were an odd little bunch, but we made it work. I knew he was brilliant. Next And then I think the White Album.

Examining intersectionality in children's and young adult literature. A Wrinkle in Time →. February 12, 2011. I’m assuming most of you coming over here know why I started up this blog. Bitch Magazine posted their list of 100 must-read feminist YA titles. Then they removed some. Lots of debate ensued. This is part of the comment that I left on the Bitch site when I first read about the controversy. If they were heterosexual romances, would they still qualify here as explicitly feminist YA literature?

Librarian a go-go

Wednesday, September 22, 2010. A colleague and friend just pointed this out to me: Look at the Library of Congress Subject Headings for a book by Ann Coulter. Let's take the book If Democrats had any brains they'd be Republicans. Text has chapters entitled "Foreigners, or the 'non-soap oriented'" and "Guantanamo: room service, I'd like seventy-two virgins, please." So, what did the catalogers at the Library of Congress have to say about this book? Well the LCSH are:. Liberalism - United States. I'm not s...

The Re-forming Librarian | Musings about Education, Information Science, and more.

Musings about Education, Information Science, and more. September 21, 2011. School is back in session, and with the beginning of every school year comes the hopes and fears of what the year will bring. I hope it will bring exciting new projects, growth, and real construction of deep knowledge; I fear that far too many students and teachers will be stuck in a rut, unable to move beyond the “standards”, as measured by so much testing. Well, then what? Creativity. Real creativity, which starts in the he...

Young Librarian + Old Cowboy

Young Librarian Old Cowboy. Sunday, April 3, 2016. My favorite Doodle dog. It is the end of an era, the death of our fine dog, Skip . What mattered to him was belonging. Having a place to come home to, where there would be food and love, always. Came close into the ranch and he ran them off. “Regular” dogs...When we moved...
