Life with the Rissell's. June 27, 2012. It was really nice having the swimming pool outside, in like a courtyard with flowers, tables and chairs. Since many of the families from our congo stayed at the same hotel, the girls had friends to swim with Thurs - Sat. And the pool was up to 9 ft deep, so they were practicing diving. Life with the Rissell's. August 24, 2012. We are now in our routine of school and work.feels good! How happy we were to hear Sophia was selected (only 4 in the 5th grade class) to be a "beacon" for the 1st semester. She was chosen for her leadership skills. As a beacon, she helps students about 20 minutes before school starts and 15 minutes after school ends (kinda like a hallway monitor). She takes her job very seriously and is so proud! Abigail has a job too! Below is a sampling of their work so far:.

Another big event in my life that many may not realize (or think of it as a big deal) is that my minivan turned over to 50,000 miles last Wednesday. Why is this a big deal? A lot of toting around kids alone. Many miles of driving without him. It makes me sad. In a month, it will be officially four years. I cannot believe that much time has gone by! There was a time in my life that I never thought my heart would be able to bear another day. But yet, here we are, a place I never thought I'd be. I still miss him more and more but I have gained strength from my loss. It is ironic isn't it? As far as life in the Tomlin household, things are OK (for now). Mikaela is 16! She is beautiful and loving!
